best personal training certificate i need one

try NASM.org

i think by far the best training template to teach program design and progression

NASM and ACE are the most recognized. i had mine through ISSA first....not as recognized as the other too, but pretty good overall foundational knowledge.

btw, personal training is a shitty career. focus your efforts elsewhere. its only good for supplemental income

it's a sales job where you still have to render a service based on an hourly rate. not to mention retention can be an issue due to finances for most people. which means you have to keep selling and keep training.
not to mention you have to pay out the gyms you're working for (usually at least 40% if not more) or at least rent for a studio or an independent contractor agreement with a bigger gym.

and its a competitive industry (in big cities)

the only way personal training is a good idea is you train celebrities...and the networking you have to do, and reputation you have to create takes years on top of a lot of luck. Or if you got a pro card...people with pro cards tend to make a good living training high end clientele

you have to sell yourself. if your huge and cut you will make a lot of money if you have the charisma along with it.

The first thing a personal trainer needs to learn is: SALES.

I know, I know seems fucked up that you would have to bust your butt gaining a wide variety of training, physiology, biology, nutrition and psychology to a great extent and it all doesn't amount to a hill of fucking beans if you are not TOPDOG in SALES. I was a personal trainer for about 2 years and I HATED the sales aspect of it but as I had four kids and a gaggle of lawyers to support I learned REAL FAST. The upshot for me personally is the sales experience I gained then really REALLY helped me with what I have been doing for the past 3 years or so.

I would NEVER go back to personal training. You work way too hard for way too little pay.

My advice echoes the advice of others before me, focus your efforts elsewhere. Ever consider bartending? Especially in a gay bar - you will make BANK, both gladiator and housemusik. I am DEAD SERIOUS.

shit i might do that then, i reeall like the idea of a personal trainer though

LOL @ everybody wanting to be a personal trainer. Dude at my gym says he's a personal trainer and wonders why he has no clients. So I finally told him: NEWS FLASH!!!!! He looks like shit. Make sure you can sell yourself before you waste the time getting certified, if thats under control then you will be golden. I think your body is your biggest advertisement and sales pitch in this carrer. Don't be like my hometown trainer, wanting people to pay him to look at his beer gut.

butt remember to only drink things out of a bottle in a Mo bar ... stay away from glassware, unless you have a penchant for the "wang" taste
WTF ? is that in your AVI. Jesus H. Christ thats terrible.

Holy e-flirt!!!

Don't beat around the bush bro, tell him how you really fell
LOL @ you str8 guy, with your licking some dudes ass avi. LOL. Whos ass have you inserted into your sick avi? I thought you was fishing wit your boy shrimp. And by the way don't all these PT dudes look like gladiators avi. I think he will do well, is all I ways saying. :supercool

glad, shoot me a pm.
wont be home till tom so im using a shitty comp of my dads.

had to go back home this weekend for my buddies 21st.

anyways my buddy B is one of the most successful PTs ive ever met.

dude spent his whole life getting huge.

hes 32 now and tore his bicep last year otherwise he would of entered and
won his comp. has been doing steroids for twelve years now though. lolololol.
hes a "germaphobe" and spends all his time eating protein
and throwing away the ends of the anpb honey sandwitches he eats he holds with
his hands so he can stay away from the germs. lol.

makes over 100,000k a year.

20.5' biceps and tons of charisma.
dude talks stripper into giving him lap dances for free.
smile frequently, be friendly as hell, and don't join a
big commercial gym like "urban active" or "worlds gym"
join a new gym or a smaller gym.

lifes all about meeting people and making connections.
so keep meeting people in the business of PTing now.

he is even so good at talking to people. he had a female
client who was going to buy him a motor cycle for free.
but B asked his fiance and she told him she wouldn't allow it.
she told him the female client probably expected something in return.
he replied, "fuck it, why did i tell her?"

i went to his wedding and he was break dancing on the floor to "it takes two" by rob bass and everyone was circled around him clapping.

he proved to me you can be successful being a PT as a career with hard work.

first day i met him he told me, "every guy wants to be me, every girl wants to fuck me".
i laughed hysterically. but the thing is his confidence, energy, and his ability to be interested
in every client, person, and friends drama, life, and training.

thing is, you are selling yourself.
you look good. focus on getting bigger
and absorbing knowledge about everything
like a sponge.

your best clients will be older or overweight females.
they will believe anything you tell them if your body is big.
just make sure your up on your knowledge and help them out the right way.

How respected is the ACSM? I got an ACE certification a while back. I only needed to buy their textbook and study it for a multiple choice test.
