what about zack wylde? if you hear him play without distortion, it is unbelievable. I saw him on Uranium a few times, and he was just sitting down, playing this blues stuff, it was extremely fast and extremely crazy. Like electric spaghetti with acid flying everywhere. Best thing I have ever heard. Musically, Im not sure if he is the best, although he is quite good.

I have heard that satriani is very good, in terms of progression and overall musicality.

sickest guitarist as far as blazing speed is John Petrucci. i also like his shredding

i also enjoy kirk hammett, stevie ray vauhaun, EVH and synyster gates (fairly new). hes brian haner's son

there are a ton more of kick ass guitarists tho
