Best excersises for triceps?

I work my triceps out with my chest on Tuesdays and this is what I do: Skullcrusher: 4x8, close grip bench press: 4X8, tricep pulldown : 2X8.

What do you guys do for your triceps?

I include numerous exercises. . .

I like to use a 3 day rotation. . this includes:

- close grip bench presses
- wide grip lockouts
- french presses
- close grip lockouts
- parallel dips

When working triceps, I only choose 1 movement.

tate presses have added slabs of meat on the back of my arms and lbs to my pressing.

Haha don't ask me, my arms pretty much suck, but I'm relying heavily on skull crushers, behind the head extentions and weighted dips right now.

I alternate close grips with extensions. Only one tri exercise per workout. Sometimes I'll throw in some pressdowns at the end to really chase the pump. Few things more physically satisfying than a huge tri pump.

Personally, the only work my triceps get are from bench presses.

You do these at the end of your DE or ME upper day? Or otherwise?

What rep and set scheme do you generally use?

Thanks,
Joker

I train my tri's pretty hard. Here's what I did the other day and I almost cried when I woke up:

3 sets each with a pull down warm up set, these are in order:

1.Cable pull downs w/ rope
2.Skull Crushers (dumbell with hammer type grip to isolate tri)
3.Cable overhead extensions
4.Dumbell Kickbacks
5.French Press (dumbell)
6.Cable pull downs (drop set)
7.Dips (unweighted)

And I highly recommend not training tri's on the same day as chest. You are robbing yourself there.

elbow out extensions are where you have dumbell in each hand and you start like at the top of a dumbell bench press. touch the ends of the db's together. then flare your elbows out to the sides as you lower the db's so that the db's stay touching. so you just rotate them untill the ends of both db's are flat on your chest.

so they start parallel to the floor at the top. then rotate them together as you lower them with your elbows flaring and when they touch your chest, they will be perpendicular to the floor.

they are the best.

joker........ i usally do them after de days. so just once a week. i usually do between 3-5 sets of 6-10 reps. i do them in all kinds of posistions as well. i do them behind the neck standing. infront of the neck standing. decline. sometimes flat and incline too.

I think skull krushers are one of the best things you can do for tri-s. I have seen very good gains doing just skull krushers and tri-pulldowns.

Dips and close-grip bench presses...dips with the elbows in hit all three heads of the triceps hard.

By far, I get the best pump from rope exercises (pushdown and extensions). It's because you work in multiple planes of motion, both push (the std motion) and spread (as the ropes seperate). This dual plane stuff is also why some Hammer machines also give great pumps.

Speaking of dips, the dip "stand" in my gym sucks. Due to all the fat people doing dips on it over the last couple of years the bars have now spread out to the sides abit. Now when I do dips, the grip is wide so I hit chest more than tricep. Ugh...

Seated triceps extensions seem to do the best for me. I used to use a curl bar but now I use a french curl bar. I do them after bench and incline bench.
