Best digital camera for around $100?

shoot for $200. a $100 camera will be shit.

You'll have a hard time finding a used camera for $100. If you do, it will most likely be 2 or 3 MP's. I have a Sony Cybershot P73 that I like. It's only 3MP, but I can get 8X10 prints from it that look good.

With any digital, make sure you have OPTICAL zoom. Digital zoom sucks ass. You can quite often find cameras that have both, which is fine.

Kits Camera has a Nikon Coolpix L4 which is 4MP for $150. The library district I work for just bought a P2 5MP with Wireless for just under $200 and it shoots nice images.

Anyone have any good advice?

Bump up to $120 and you can get the HP Photosmart. I just researched the bejesus out of digicams and that's the one I finally settled on. Very solid cam for the price. 5mp, video capture, 4X zoom and 16 mb of standard memory.

This is similiar to the one I have, which is the A610. I love it. You want 4 megapixels if you have any intention of printing photos. That will give you a great 8x10. More than 4mp is overkill unless you plan to print posters but if you can get it for no premium do it. The A620 is 7mp.

Gallery. Cool application. I have a friend that installed Fedora on one of his machines so he could get someone to help install it.
