Best 5x5 anchor exercise for triceps?

I've been doing lying barbell tricep extentions for my 5x5 anchor (what some people here call 'skull crushers') and don't think the motion is all that great for progressive loading.

What exercise is best for 5x5 anchor? This is on the same day I do chest, so I have already done flat bench 5x5 and incline bench + incline flies 2x10. My 2x10s for triceps are currently pushdowns and dips.

I am reluctant to do CG for the tri anchor, but am open to it. Maybe make the dips the 5x5 and add a weight belt for progression?

weighted dips work well

My main tricep exercise has and always will be pressdowns on the lat pull machine.

my first exercise tends to be close grip, but if you are benching first its probably not as good an idea

There is something sort of macho about dips - and especially weighted dips.

I currently do assisted dips - and I think a big part of it isn't the weight but the balance issue. I will switch to making my 5x5 tricep thing be dips and gradually add weight.

Thanks folks. If I ever change the split, I will consider CG.

i would say CG as well, but that's only because my stupid ASS gym only has a dip station made for midgets (or so it seems, it's friggin hilarious, not to mention annoying)
