Bench Day in Jerzey

So, I made a little journey across the Ben Franklin into Jersey for a little bench workout with FromZero. We tore it up pretty good.

went a little something like this:

2 Board Press - working up to a 1RM
Jerkbox - maxed out at 265, missed 270
From Zero - maxed out at 345, missed at 355

3 Board Press (a few attempts at singles)
Jerkbox - got 260 x1, missed 265
From Zero - got 335

Outward Extensions - 4x8 w/40's
Tricep Pressdowns - 3x8
Face Pulls - 3x8

Barbell Rows - 5x5 w/165

Seated Calf Raises- 2x20


FZ is a benching machine...lol. much stronger than I thought. I however need a lot of work....haha. All in all, great workout....I went back to Philly, swained some steak and slept like a baby.

one of these days we gotta bring a camera and post up some vids....I just never think of it.

Nah broly, I only got 335 on the 3 boards, and didn't even attempt 355 on the 2 boards.

It was a quality workout. Combination WSB and old school. I'm pretty sore today. :)

I learned some tricks of the trade from jerkbox, and noticed a few things about my bench technique:
- When I get to the heavier weights, I'm bringing the bar a little high on my chest (not sure if I did this with my 315 and 345 2 board, but I definitely caught it on the 3 board attempts). This caused some straining in the shoulders, so I will have to work on my technique some.
- Flared my elbows too. Fuck.
- I didn't think of this at all when we were benching, but I didn't use any leg drive for assistance.

But, I'm happy with my numbers, as I had never performed the board presses before.

Next workout, I'm bringing my goddamned camera.
