Beginner needs advise

Bro,
Considering you already have a good workout routine in mind, a good diet is the most important thing you now need to put on some weight. Try to take in around 200g of protien a day, and that should be spread out over 5-6 meals. Try to get at least 500 calories out of each of those meals, and keep the carb intake at about the same or higher then your protien intake. All you have to do to accomplish this is read the food labels in the grocery store. Also, a large meal after you workout and before you go to bed will really help you put some mass on. Hope this helps. LATE

good site for info

www.exercisecertification.com

read through the articles section and excepts from the books, and there is also a discussion board on training, though there is no talk about steroids there so if that is what you are truley interested in then stick around here but like everyone else said I would put it off until you peak naturally.

Alright, thanks for all of the good advise. I don't have any kind of workout routine so I am looking through all of these sites so I can see what they have to say. Its a little overwhelming but I am atleast getting an idea of how much work this will take. Can't wait to get started.

Start Here....

If you're looking for some "basic direction" in the sport, then you need to march down to the local bookstore and purchase "Ultimate Bodybuilding" by Joe Weider. It's a massive book on technique, lifts, diet, cardio, psychology, and goal-setting. My advice? Eat, sleep, shit, and pray with this book, eat like a horse, and work out like like a homicidal, sucidial, genocidal freak. Do this for 365 days without cheating yourself out of a proper diet or workout, and amazing things shall happen to that tiny body of yours. Steroids should be something to consider only AFTER you've got the basics down: dieting, resting, supplement intake, psychology, and training. Once you have gotten a grasp of those concepts, then you need to do your homework on gear and its pros and cons. You're an adult. Take full responsibility and "pay your dues" in the gym before you consider sticking a needle in your ass. You'll thank all of us later.

Peace.

I can't believe that no one has made a comment about the fact that this guy says that he only wants to take steroids for a couple of weeks! He makes it sound like he wants to work out, take steroids, put on 20pds and then call it quits. Steroids are not something that should be used in that way, nor should they be used by people just looking to put on a few pounds.

Agreed. I guess everyone just overlooked that part. tsk tks Genarr3 u know better. hehehe j/k bro. Everyone knows u know your shit. Not as much as me of course but hey, we can't all be like Mike. :p

ok, i take it you are just starting out. get in the gym,try some basic lifts, keep in mind to use proper form, so use lighter weights until you get the hang of it. find out what works best for you. and keep a log, it will keep you motivated. eat ,eat eat, and eat some more. at 5'9 it wont take much to build a good foundation. at 21 you have plenty of potetial to grow naturally. train naturally for a least a couple of years. then maybe try some gear. this isn't a part time affair, dedicate a couple of years, and i can assure you won't be disapointed.:)

Doesnt sound like youve worked out too much or at all up to this point. Seeing as your new to weightlifting your gains could come fast. My advice to you is to research a good workout regime, email me if you want one, change your diet and invest in some supplements... Nothing more serious than simple supplements. Its too soon for you to be taking steroids, be patient. Stick on elite fitnesss, you will learn loads and have a good time. Maybe in 2 years time steroids will be the right path for you.

If you want to gain weight then just quit you might as well drink heavy cream all day and eat doughnuts.

I have seen so many times people go on this "wonder diet" lose or gain weight then quit. It pisses me off cause afterwards the think they are king shit.

Eat healthy + Work Out = Live Longer

Going to the gym and putting on weight isnt a fly by night thing. If you want to do it right, then it is a lifestyle change my friend.

So ask yourself.

1.) Do I want to gain weight for the short term
2.) Do I want to gain weight for the long term
