Beer as a postworkout carb?

Haha.. i donno im just a little drunk thought id throw the question in the air as a joke.. but id like some interesting answers even though i know it cant be good no matter what.. but how bout working out eating some chicken breasts and then going out and having some beers as some extra carbs.. lol.. oh well.. lets see how much flames i get from this.. just laugh with me..
 
sure... beer is great... just add your fav. MRP and throw in a blender.

I like beer... quite a lot actually :)

I read somewhere recently, that Alchohol lowers your testosterone ALOT. If you get absolutely shit faced(which I am prone to doing) it can take up to a week for your testosterone levels to return to normal. Best thing to do is pop some Zinc, Calcium Magnesium and a Vitamin B Complex (ZMA) in the morning to help trigger your body to produce more testosterone. Other than that, it dehydrates the shit out of you, which would result in less water being stored in your muscle fibres. I've noticed that if I drink a couple glasses of water before drinking, then one glass with every beer, I tend to stay a lot less hung over... it makes you feel REALLY good too while drinking.... Its pretty hard if your at a bar or club, but if your just chilling at home you won't get that burnt out feeling that alchohol is prone to make you have near the end of a heavy binge. :)
hrrmm.. Beer calories are very empty calories... totally useless, and if your like me you wind up having 10 or more ... thats like friggen 2000+ calories. Not so good for shredding :)
That said, I can't wait to have a few tomorrow :)

for postworkout you need high GI carbs + protein

beer = alcohol + moderate GI carbs

and alcohol is not good for your testosterone

Drink you beer (if you "nned" alcohol) more than 2hours after training
 
I forgot to say that alcohol will effect your insulin sensitivity

==> more difficult to gain LBM (muscle)
==> moer difficult to lose fat

Actually moderate alcohol consumption improves insulin sensitivity.

ZMA does not trigger your body to produce more testosterone. A zinc deficiency results in lower testosterone. Supplimenting with zinc puts an end to your deficiency and therefore will NORMALIZE testosterone.

Calcium is not found in any ZMA stack and should not be used when supplementing for this purpose. Calcium competes directly with magnesium for absorption and pretty much makes the ZMA useless. Avoid anything with calcium 2 hours prior to taking your ZMA.
