Now I know what the obvious answer is... it's better if i cut out the beer... but what I wanted to know is, if I still drink 4-5 beer say once a week on the weekend or something, is it gonna mess up my progress in the rest of the work im doing during the week?
 
Either you are serious about your gains or not! If you are on cycle NO WAY! If you are going on vacation for a week then you could cut loose a little. But, every week in my opinion is too much!

But yeah Id limit your 4-5 beers 1 day a fornight. And HIgh Intesity Cardio the same day/day after.

Once every other week wouldn't be bad, but drink a lot of water when sweating the shit out the next day. Maybe the chaser tabs would help a little? Not sure, but worth a try just to see.

it's not called a "beer belly" for nothing.
 
Hops are estrogenic and alcohol fucks up protein synthesis. I personally do not drink, unless it is a very special occasion. I do like to talk to the Mexican though lollol.
 
It depends on your goals. If you want to be 4% bf then of course you shouldn't be drinking. If your goals arent to be that or to be a professional body builder than drinking in moderation is fine. Once a week isn't going to kill you as long as you are strict with your diet the other 6 days and you do enough cardio.

Honestly people in here can't really tell you whether or not drinking once a week is going to hurt your progress. Everyone is made differently. I have a friend in particular who drinks both Friday and Saturday. The rest of the week he eats healthy and he runs and lifts weights. He is not super serious about working out just wants to be healthy and fit, yet he has a 6 pack and no fat on his stomach. It all depends on your body composition, are you ecto, meso, or endo? A lot of it depends on your genetics and your training so try it out and see how it works for you don't just take someones opinion on it in these boards because it doesn't work for them.
 
Negative on the beer. A long time ago ^^ when i used to go out 1 night of the weekend each week and have a few drinks it slowed down my gains and made me noticebly weaker. Now I am lucky to have a beer once in a blue moon and if i do its no more than 2. Might not sound very exciting to you but i still head out with the boys on occasions and drink water all night and still have a good time. (Just thought i would add that because your probably wondering what you are going to do on the weekends if your not going out :P)

just use it as your cheat
i still binge on weekends sometimes for multiple days, 40+ beers, endless liquor, shitfaced but still maintain at around 5-7%BF
definitely slows down progress regardless but if your goals include getting jacked so you can go chop 10s at the bar, then its all in the master plan anyway.
key is to hit at least 60g gatorade powder + 1L water prebed after getting mashed and again in the morning and you're good to go again
just dont make it a daily thing and go extreme health mode when you not binging.

yeah i second that,i have been training for 20years and enjoy a good 20pints of lager each weekend...lifes too short to be obsessive
 
After a night of drinking it takes your body four days to fully recover. It causes your metabolism to drop and will put you into the land of catabolism. Remember the whole goal behind lifting and wanting to get bigger is staying anabolic, eat healthy, get rest and train like a madman. Drinking is one of the fastest ways to turn off your metabolism. Honestly if you’re a drinker you’re not serious about this. And yes, once a week is to much.
