The guy who built and owned the place before me was about 65 and it was decorated as you would expect for a 65 y/o man. In 20 days I stripped all wall paper and floor covering, patched and painted the whole house, laid hardwod throughout the kitchen and living rooms, carpet in the BR and new vinyl in the baths. I kept the cabinetry because it wasn't too bad, but did buy new furniture since I still had alot of the shit that had made it through college with me (and it looked like furniture from college). I'll throw some pics up if you interested. I'm proud of how it turned out.

I met with a landscaper last week to plan the work on the outside of the house which will start in the spring. I think this will be the part I enjoy the most. I've got a HUGE yard (about 7 acres) with all types of possibilities.

I'm in Central KY, about 30 min. outside of Lexington. Horse country. For neighbors I have texas longhorns on one side and quarter horses on the other. My house sits about 700 ft off the road and I have a total of about 15 acres, so there is plenty of elbow room. I mow 7 acres weekly and keep it clean and nice. It's nice to have the space. My nephews come over and I show them how to play in the woods and catch snakes and frogs and all that stuff that boys need to know how to do.

It really is a great bachelor pad. Just me and Jimmy, my pug.
