Yep, Gibbie's knee.....he is now a manager with the Tigers...he's with Trammell and Parish...the '84 boys reunite...all the need now is Whittaker.

I love ya guys, but you are all wrong about Gib. He reinjured his HAMMY during that years NLCS.

Hey brainiac!!! We were right...

Kirk Gibson
In Game 1 of the 1988 World Series, the Dodgers leader hobbled to the plate as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the ninth, and blasted a two-run shot off A's reliever Dennis Eckersley to give the Dodgers a 5-4 victory. Good thing Gibson hit a homer -- his knee was in such bad shape he was unable to swing the bat the day before, and he could barely walk. "We weren't worried about him having to run," Dodgers outfielder Mickey Hatcher said. "Hopefully, he can wheelchair it to first, and we can do something from there." Gibson didn't play again in the Series.

We should get some karma for your blatant lies!!! :D

It still sends chills up my spine when I see Gibson's HR. Even though Strawberry should have won the MVP that year instead of Gibson.

To me, when I get that kind of reaction every time I see something, it defines a memorable moment. Seeing Cal Ripken loaf around the park, doesn't get me all tingly.

Mine is when Hank Arron hit the home run to break Ruth's record. I never saw that moment live, but it was still pretty frigging cool.

My other 2 are:

When HG pennypacker and his son jumped the Royals 1st base coach.

And when Jack McDowell spit on Newman and Kramer.

First of all, I didn't know the kid that ran on the field with me.

Secondly, it was Roger McDowell you flaming jackass.

Go back to singing your theme song while you flit around the streets.

If I recall correctly, it was his knee...

Fellas,

It was Gibson's hammie that got him. Great home run though. I remember talking to my pop about it because I thought it was his knee. He laughed @ me and said "if you knew what it was you wouldn't think it was that special". A minute later he told me that he partially tore his hammie. Kirk's reaction to hitting the bomb is still an all-time moment.

I am sticking with my original though. The "Pine-Tar" home run. George Brett!

No doubt Aarons #715

I was 10 years old and had a shitty little tape recorder and recorded the audio when it happened.
