i guess this has been posted but i'll repost...

we all have heard he is going to miss the season, right?

well, doesnt this scream out that he used deca or similar long lasting long detected gear? it takes a year for it to clear the system in tests....

my problem with the new baseball testing is, what about the guys that used the stuff when it wasn't banned??? they could have been clean for the last 6 months or 3 months or stopped the day baseball said "no more" and will still test positive.

i dont care if he used.. i dont care if anyone used actually.. it wasnt banned and god knows babe was a fucking freak of nature (or was he just an old school gear head eating horse testicles???)

anyway.. i'm done

he will play this year

It would have been a lot easier on him and others if they would have said, "yea, I used it until they banned it, and then I quit."...

Would have totally de-fused this whole issue.

He was tested last year and was clean, so I don't think this has anything to do with steroid testing. Bonds has had 3 knee surgeries in the past 4 months now, and has learned his lesson about trying to come back too quickly. I think he'll play in 8-12 weeks...he was just having a down day when he made those comments. Rehab can be frustrating as hell, but having gone through it only to have another procedure that sets you back to square one has got to be downright depressing.

Agreed. How people relate this to steroids is asinine. Also, Barry looked bigger than ever and he tested clean. I think Barry has adjusted to his new muscle and it is his for good. Hell, I used to weigh 200, now I am 225 at the same bodyfat%. Haven't touched a steroid in a year.

Gains can be permanent my friends.

Of course he's sititng out this year as they now have a slew of new procedures for previously undetected metabolites....if he plays he can be tested

I would have said the same thing, but I couldn't spell metabolites.

He'll be out most, if not all of this season because of the knee surgeries he just had.

Aside from the fact that I bought opening day tickets for left field at Dodgers stadium agaist the Giants, just so that I could talk shit to him, I am really happy any time that fuck gets some sort of set back.

Fuck the Giants!!!!!!

ya they can still test him whether or not he's playing he's on the team.. i believe this will work perfect cause he will be sitting as this shit dies down a little with steroids..

see.....he'll get a doc to prescribe deca or some shit for his knee

Makes Aaron's 755 look even more impressive.

Hitting a ball is all about hand/eye coordination, with or without steroids he is still the best hitter in baseball for our era.

Regardless juicing in pro sports is a scumbag thing to do. No different than any other form of cheating.

Still about hand/eye coordination when you cork that bats as well, but it helps a lot when you do connect

Get used to it... it is the future. I don't see it as being any different than a titanium shaft in golf or innovations in equipment in any other sport. Here we are innovating the human body. Wait until gene therapy becomes the norm... it will be unstoppable.

Steroids are nothing more than testosterone derivitives, why is this so evil? I think checmical enhancement should be encouraged and administered professionally. God knows chemical enhancement saved baseballs ass in the Summer of 98.

I would probably watch track in field if everyone was enhanced. It would be interesting to watch what the human body can be capable of without the smallminded rules currently in place.

They should have sports pre and post steroids...
Theres no stopping gene therapy so the record books should be used to reflect that!!

This is a statement that is commonly made by guys that have no concept of how the game of baseball has changed in the past couple of decades. You have to understand that todays pitchers perform at a level that is so far above the pitchers in Aarons era. Barry Bonds of today would be hitting 70+ homeruns per year if he was playing in the same ere as Aaron. Bonds is without a doubt the best player in the history of the game. Anyone that knows anything about the game would agree with this.

no way he was using deca, too smart and has too much money for that. I give him 2-3 months

Whiskey

the things the babe accomplished put everything and everyone else to shame... he hit more homeruns that other TEAMS did in the season... HE WAS A TRUE FREAK. too bad all we get is legend now.

Not to mention it was a deadball era... The balls were much softer by todays standards where they wrap the balls so tight they might as well be hit off a tee... Not taking anything away from todays hitters b/c once again you still have to have the skill and eye hand coordination!!

Yeah, those ass pitchers like Gibson, Spahn, Koufax etc. They sucked. Losers. Pitching is way more diluted now than it was in the past.

Players of today have players of the past to learn from...of course they are better now. In 30 years someone will be better than Bonds. And 30 years later, someone will be better than that guy. There's going to be a better basketball player than Michael Jordan too. So what? Doesn't mean the shit MJ did is less awesome.

My only point was....as good as Bonds is, and he may be the best ever (I like Willie Mays as #1, we can disagree), it does not look like he will be able to pass Aaron. I don't really care either way. Bonds could hit 1000 homers and it wouldn't change my life one bit.

All I know is that Bonds couldn't throw out Sid Bream. The greatest baseball player should have been able to throw out a 60 year old man, with bad wheels, trying to score from second on a single into left field, don't you think? ;)
