barbell weights

mad dipz

New member
is there any website that possibly makes 1 lb. barbell weights?? I've googled it but nothing's really come up about it. I needed to order about 4 so I can easily manage the 2.5% increases with my other plates.

One suggestion is to take a 2.5 and have it ground down by a machinists till it weighs 1lb, or you can get washers at Home Depot and glue them together till 1lb - just make sure the washer is big enough to fit on the bar...lol

The big olympic collars are 1 lb. each, at least mine are:

I actually bought 1.25 lb plates ... I still kick myself over that. Would have been a lot cheaper to get some 1 lb. chunks of chain or a couple of socks full of sand.

Agreed, I have a couple of pairs and I weighed them. 2lb for a pair.

The spring collars come in at 0.5kg for a pair, which puts them at around half a pound each.
