Barbell Rows

What type of grip do you guys use. I know you can use an alternating grip. Also I was thinking about having both my palms facing outward? Or should I just have both palms facing in?

Thanks Guys

I wouldn't use an alternate grip, I am not a big symmetry guy, but I would gather that would seriously fuck up your appearance.

I go double over w/ straps, and row like Sarge....double under would be okay too, just be careful with that grip not to get too herky jerky with too much weight, because you'll activate smaller muscles in the biceps and obviously you can't curl what you can BB row, and a biceps tear could occur.

how the hell would you use an over/under grip without twisting and falling over? And why would you want to, more importantly?

I go double over, no straps but that's because I'm still not rowing much more than 300 with my torso supported version.. and on the 2nd day I go under but use a curl bar rather than the straight bar (less elbow stress with the angle of pull. Reverse grip rows with the straight bar always hurt my shoulder and elbows)

I never said I used an alternate grip I just heard of people using it. I thought it seemed a little hard to do. Thanks for the Info.

I use an over under grip. I find it to be the best and safest way to go. Several pro bodybuilders, one big name you prob all know Dorian Yates, tore his bicep doing double under. The alternate does not mess up your symmetry and if you are worried about it switch which hand is over/under each set. I personally feel I gain more stability and power from doing it this way and less risk of injury. At times I might do double over just to switch it up but I prefer my alternate grip the most.
