You need to make sure that your carbs are complex carbs, like sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat grains. Plainly stated, anything that has been processed(most of which have simple sugars in them) is a bad carb to eat when dieting.
I eat 2 slices of wheat bread a day while cutting. Im cutting right now. But i guess i dont get "sick with it" I like to have a VERY clean diet but keep 100% whole wheat bread in there.
