bad injection question

I just completed a 3cc glute inject. After pulling the needle out, a fountain of blood projected out from the site. I am assuming that I hit a vein. What I am concerned about is if it's possible to for the oil to project out of the site with the blood? In other words could I have lost some of the gear or is it injected deep enought into the muscle that it would'nt expell along with the blood? Thanks

Sure. Possible. Take a look at the blood, it should be all over your floor, if there's beads of oil in it then that's your gear.

I bleed every time I do a glute shot. It's never a fountain, though it has bled quite a bit. If it squirted then you probably hit an artery. If you aspirated and no blood entered the syringe then the oil is most likely deeper than the vein you passed through. So you should be okay. IMHO

Apply pressure to the injection site with your alcohol prep pad as soon as you pull the needle out. That should stop the bleeding quickly and prevent you from losing all of your gear if that is the case..

I aspirated and no blood entered the syringe. However, about five minutes later I felt somewhat dizzy and had a oil like taste in my mouth. What I think might of happened is I passed through a vein and as I was pulling out a small amount of oil may have entered that vein. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have aspirated without seeing blood, then stood up and had a sort of dizzy nauseated feeling for about 45sec. Didn't take 5min though.

You'll be fine. There are no major arteries running in the glute region. Take a second look at http://www.spotinjections.com/ for a detailed guide on shooting.

If you aspirated and there was no blood... you probably passed through a blood vessel. Dizziness could be related to any number of things... including improper breathing while performing a stressful activity... such as plunging a piece of steel into your body. :D
