generally, 1" is ideal for quads (thighs)... if you use a 1.5" pin, only go 1" deep. Also, 23G may be a bit too big for some..... 25G is easier going in, but it's more difficult to inject (especially thicker compounds). I personally use 25G, 1" in my quads... 22G for glutes.... try warming up the pin after you draw up the oils (run under hot water for a while)... that will help.... inject after taking a hot shower, that loosens up the muscles.... rub the area after injecting, that helps disperse the oils.... you may want to rub in some muscle rub cream or tiger balm or something simliar... .that will help a bit with the pain.
