My brother is a smoker of weed. He is 25 and still lives with my parents in Detroit. My parents know about his smoking FYI.
My Mom and Step Dad had decided to take a trip to Phoenix for their Wedding Aniversary. About 2 days into the trip they get a call from my brother late one night. He tells them that he has been throwing up and has real bad chest pains. They all decided to wait it out through the night, but around 6:00am the next morning they called my brother and he was in worse shape.
They flew back home and when they got to the house he was competly dehydrated and could bairly move.
They take him to the hospitial via ambulance. When he got to the hospital they hooked him up to the EKG and found out he was slowly haveing a heart attack. Apparently after the MRI, they found blood clots forming in his blood stream that were making their way back to his heart. One of the younger nurses asked if he had done any drugs. He told her that he smoked a few bowls of a bag he just got and started feeling bad. She told him that they have had 9 cases of young people haveing heart attacks and two of them had died. They were 19 and 22.
They said that he was very lucky and was very close to dieing himself. They ended up doing a surgery via a artery in his leg to clear the blood clots out. My brother said that this has changed his life. For some I guess coming close to death make you enjoy life that much more.
