Background Checks

I just interviewed for a new position with a new company. They are doing a check on my criminal past. I have none except an impaired driving. Will this show up? Does anyone know?

Even though impaired driving is not considered a felony.

I'm pretty sure.....if the postion does not entail driving or anything like that they might not consider it a problem....depends on the company and the type of job...you had to have been pretty young when you got it..so they might take that into consideration...but i thought anything that you have been charged with will show up...I have had several checks but no history

I had a background check back in May of 05. No history for them to find, but they were very thorough with the procedure. Called every single one of my contacts. Even my squadron to make sure I was really a Marine. That was for a concealed weapons permit though.

What kind of job are you going for?

In Ohio the BMV has your entire criminal history. When his car insurance came up for renewal it showed his ticket for not having his dog on a leash he got from a city park ranger. Many companies also do a credit check as part of the background check.
