Back stabbing co-workers

I work in a small department in a large company. Our work is measured in both quality and quantity. There aree half of us that consistently exceed expectations in quantity and quality. The other half is upset because we're making them look bad. They've started saying that we're letting our quality slip to get more done. The problem is that the quality is in truth, measured by someone that really doesn't know enough about what we do to judge our work, hence everyone always achieves perfect scores in quality because the boss wouldn't recognize bad work if he saw it.
The truth is that because some of us are doing more work, the company is raising the quantity standards. This is pissing off the people that aren't reaching the current standard. What pisses me off is that these people that are below standards don't get their productivity goals because they are lazy. One smokes cigarrettes three hours a day and sometimes disappears from her desk for hours at a time while still on company time. Another surfs the web all day and there's one that spends half the day talking to her friends on the phone.

I've just decided to say hell with it. As long as my boss is happy with my work then I don't care what they say.

Just worry about you and do your best. Don't let others try to bring you down so that they feel better about themselves. This would seriously motivate me to go even harder to simply rub it in their lazy asses.
