Back problems

I went to my GP because of back pain from bad posture and lifting certainly didn't help. He's refered me to someone to show me how to strengthen the muscles around the curve.

He said I should be able to do the excercises (he does them himself) before each workout. So my question is:

Does anyone know what these excercises are? The curve is around where the shoulder blades.

I am a bit confused about your post.

Have you seen the specialist yet? Are you referred to a physio?

I would also highly recommend yoga.

Well, she's not a physiothreapist (as I would expect in the UK). I believe she is a friend of his, a sports therapist. I'm asking on here because she may not have the know-how of a pyhsio, will cost me time, will cost me money.

Some physios are far better than others, and there are other areas of specialisation in exercise that can really make a difference

There is a physio I want to see who specialises in physical re-alignment of posture.

I know that due to some previous injuries and my posture, I have asymmetries in my physique.

If you are unsure, give her a call and ask a few questions.

Do you know how much she charges and for how long?

Typically it is not more than 40 quid for a half hour session, you could always try one and see if you like it.
