About a month ago I injured my back presumably when I was in the weight room and I'm still having problems, I still get pain in my back and when I try lifting again my shoulder isn't moving correctly..seems to be a problem in my spine, neck, shoulder area..i'm going to have the doctor look at it pretty soon but was just wondring from others peoples experience how long does a back injury usually last?

forever. You are gonna have that injury the rest of your life. You should be focusing on core rehab right now and not just getting back into the gym. Your shoulder sound like musculature imbalance as well, probably some trigger points. You have a good massage therapist that can check you out?

If it's mostly in your lower back, try stretching out your legs alot.

My RMT said that 90% of lower back problems are caused by having tight legs.

I stretch my legs all the time now, and no longer do I have any lower back issues. =)

Sounds like it's more upper back though, I agree with John find a good Massage therapist.

He is correct; tight hams are primary culprits, but there are many other structures to consider. Look up PNF or find a chiropractor who knows ART or understands PNF, though there are many other good procedures. Be aware though, DC's are inconsistent in their abilities. Some should get a Nobel Prize and others shouldn't be allowed to touch playdough.
