I've been out of the weight lifting game for two years and now i'm back. Just wondering if anyone else has similar experience and if anyone has any views on what i can expect. Will my previous experience promote an accelerated weight gain in me, or will it be like being right back at sqaure one????

would never take more than 3-4 days off so cant relate.
but welcome back.

Your starting from scratch bro, Expect large amouts of pain followed by a few weeks of "Damn Frickin fracin fragle rockin why the hell did I take so much time off. What an idiot i was, but at least i'm back and i'll never quit again"
Congats and good luck too you!

Hi guys, it's great to be back, and thanks for the replies.

When i first started Building i was a measly 12 stone at 6 feet tall, at my peak, with one cycle, i reached 15.5 stone - in three years. At present i am 14 stone, so two stone heavier than i was when i started - also, i still look like im in quite good shape, still got quite good definition etc. And i know what you mean about the pain, worked biceps on Monday and im still in agony - it will be worth it in the end though.

lol, you know..stones, nuts, balls, marbles, nads, etc.

i lived in dark, gloomy, depressing london for 2 years and if my memory serves me right i think one stone is about 14 pounds.

I took about six months off, abused my body, was depressed, etc. I've been back in for about 1.5 months now and ahve been getting it back bit by bit. My chest and arms are so pathetically weak now. Legs and shoulders are coming back. It's frustrating, but it feels great to do my body some good.

STONES - hahaha, correct, 1 stone is 14 ounds, to translate, i went from about 170 Lb's to 217 in three years, 14 of these were gained on gear.

47 pounds in 3 years is quite an accomplishment even if on gear for those 3 years!

good work bro.. or shall i say MATE?? :qt:

Has anyone got any suggestions on dealing with pain - at the moment i cant straigthen my arms and i've been like this since Monday - now thursday lunch time. I really wanna get back in the gym, but almost every exercise is out cos of my arms. Are there any 'secret' ways of getting rid of pain that you guys are aware of. I've tried Deep Heat, Deep Freeze, Ibuprofen, Codiene and Tramadol. This is so irritating.

Do you guys think doing a light cycle to get back quicker would be worth while or shall i just work naturally for at least the next 18 months????

Muscle memory should treat you well in your first few months. I suspect you will snap back into the swing of things quickly...

I got lazy for about a year and gained 35 lbs!!! :worried: :worried: I have been back in for a good 4 mos. now though..Wont ever do that again.

I agree 100%......the pain is probably due to you going to heavy too fast....slat is right though..muscle memory will help you regain what you lost allot quicker....

Thanks again guys. I used this site an awful lot back in the day, and after two years away things haven't changed - still a great source of information and support. Thanks guys, it's good to know that i'm not the only one to have been a dumb ass!!!!!
