Back exercises that don't hit your pecs much?

Puddles

New member
Are there any? I did some assisted pull-ups, but my pecs are still in a funk from the implants and I need to do some back work without having to go with minimal weight due to funky pecs. Any suggestions?

Puddles, I noticed after my surgery that it seemed everything I did in some way worked my pec mucle, upper body anyway. I like the wide lat pulldowns and bent over row.

I just kept doing my same exercises but lowered the weight. I had no problem after about a two weeks after the surgery and I went under the muscle too. It just looked funny when I did certain exercises and my pecs flexed but it never hurt anything.

Btw are you asking because you are feeling some pain when you use the muscle?

When I had my implants done even walking hurt. Evrything in that region was sensitive. My doctor put my boobies in s sling. It's really a good idea. He took the Sarratus muscle ( kind of under the arm pit to the side of the Lat, you know that little checker board thing) and connected it to the outer pec area. It can't pop out to the side like some BBs' do and is nestled in nicely. So I really had some pain going on. Down side... I'll never see that checkerboard thing again.
My doctor advised me not to do any upper body exercises for 4 weeks. Don't won't to screw up anyhting after all the $$$$ That went into it.

msboss, what do you mean by checkerboard thing?
Well, the Sarratus Muscle has a kind of woven effect look to it. Maybe that's a better discription. It's hard to explain. Wish I had some of those great Anatomy pictures that Spatts sometimes posts here to help explain.

Would this procedure be considered full submuscluar? If so I do believe that is what I had done. I also was told not to preform direct chest exercies until about 4-weeks post op. But it still seemed everyting I did worked them... Instead of them going out like you explained mine tend to go up like instant clevage...

Yes, full submuscular. Ouch! Yes they do get pulled up. The doctor showd me at one of my post op visits how to push down and massage so they would set in the right spot. I know a woman who didn't do anything to them after they were done and one is higher than the other. The muscle will relax and you'll be feeling so much better soon. :)

Thanks...I did close grip lat pull downs but at substantially lowered weight. I will try the bent over rows. The weights I had to do were so low I didn't get sore at all. Yes...I was getting pain...maybe moreso from the infection not being gone, I dont' know.

I just visited the doc today and I'm doing much better, however, the doctor wants to redo my lift after I'm healed from this. My body rejected many of the stitches and I'm not quite as lifted as I could be, so, he'll just do it over...no additional charge. All I'll have to do is recover again. LOL At least the implants seem to be what we wanted!

OOO a redo, Good luck hun, I really wish everything would have went perfect the first time around. But that is plastic surgery and the risks. I too had a few little complications but I am not sure they are worth going back under the Knife.

I wish you well, take it easy on the workouts and keep up updated.
