Back after taking some time off

Ok guys we all know we bust ass in the gym and if we dont keep up on it we lose it right? Well about a month and a half ago I took some time off because my life started changing a lot really fast. I went back to the gym last night feeling really good. I completley shattered all of my previous records.

By the way I am just turning 22. But what confuses me is everytime I took over a month off for a break I came back weak and feeling like shit and I was sore the next day. I am barely sore today and I crushed the gym last night but I cant figure out why.

I am really happy about it obviously but very confused because this is like the first time this has happened. Instead of losing anything I came back well rested and without any joint soreness and I smashed it.

just wondering if any experienced guys can shed some light on this.

If your diet is good you will continue to grow for 3 weeks after you stop. So if it was in tact than you would have only taken a week that would have had any negative effects on you.

You could have been overtraining as well.

Yeh my diet was the best it had ever been. I gained a total of 5lbs and my stomach seemed flatter and my forearms were a lot more ripped. I was doing very well. I wasnt overtraining becuz before i got lazy i was making steady gains and doing an all time high with the seated DB military presses with the 90lbs that i never could even get close too i was stuck at 70's for so long. No way I was over training but it must have been the diet becuz now that you mention it my diet was pretty good

If I was overtrained before taking the break how was I getting considerably stronger with every training session? Like I understand the whole overtraining thing but I was eating a lot training hard and consistant and getting lots of rest. So I would understand if I was having bad training sessions prior to break but I was shattering personal records left and right. Thats why im like huh?! cuz this never happend before but im happy about it. Im guessing it had something to do with my diet and everything like nolongerconfused said.
