b4 starting your cycle

Do any of you guys let the body rest before you start a cycle? meaning take 4 or 5 days off from lifting before, I never did, but recently read that its a good idea.. just wondering if any do this, and why?

I was in a maintenance mode for the last month, Diet was "ok" but nothing great i still took in protein but I ate more fat than usual. i also did not train as hard I still hit every muscle but decreased intensity

I beleive it is good to "decondition" the muscles before a cycle.

But i got my diet on point for the last 2 weeks to clean out my system and get my shit together.

LOOK OUT for the 8 weeks

i read that on an old post, i think it was this board, about taking a week or so off from the gym leading into a cycle, giving the body and muscles time to heal and be fresh. I have only done 2 other cycles and have never done that. I am about to start my 3rd, and wanted to know if there are any benifits to doing this or dosent it matter. thanks for any replies. :)

It all depends on the person. If you feel you need a week off before you start take it if not don't. It's all in being able to listen to your body and what it needs. When I feel like I need a week off I'll take it, but that doesn't happen often. I would go completely nuts if I did see the gym for a week. I get mad at my sportrs med doc. when he tells me I need to take time off lol.

My thoughts exactly. The only time I take off is the week between Christmas and New Years. And I usually don't take a whole week off. I usually end up training a couple days because I love it.
