The Bearcats always have such solid student athletes playing for them. Just good clean cut kids.

Have they graduated a basketball player, ever?

I would rather be in the NBA not graduated, making 10 mil a year then reading Elite Fitness, with my degree and talking about how they dont graduate players...

How about you?

Dont lie...

Education is over rated.. So are the Yankees.

The average NBA career is 2.4 years.

so after they make a couple hundred grand and leave they have no education or life. All they have is their 90,000$ car and 200,000$ watch.

Education is not overrated if you can keep good jobs for the next 40 years.

I call Bullshit. I bet the roomie set up the dribbler. Had friends whip his ass and ratted on the roomie. NOBODY likes a rat. We oughtta go get that fucker.heheh(man, people are fucked up nowadays)

Kenyon Martin who, Left Cincy early... signed for 67 million I believe..

That is a slight chunk mre than a couple of hundred thousand.

The guys that are leaving early and getting drafted are making FAR more on average then the league minimum..

Being EXTREMELY conseravtive... I will play along with you and say 1 million a year..

So they make 2.4 millin by your logic, with interest and investments we will call it a conserative 3 million..

That is more than you or I will make in that time and I am fairly sure that there will be plenty of willing universities around to help them in their academic endeavors in 2.4 years.

Kenyon Martin is a superstar and is not a regular example. He was also the college player of the year.

An estimated 40 percent of the players are earning the league's minimum salary of $247,000 per year.

So unless you are really really good, like Kenyon Martin, the NBA is a temporary source of income, all the more reason to stay and get a degree.

Although I already stated this.......

The guys leaving early GENERALLY arent making league minimum... They are leaving early because they will be high draft picks...

They are not making the leage mimimum..

Even with your flawed logic in place though..... USING THE EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE numbers that you provide...

Unless they can make 500+ K in the next 2.4 years... It is still more feasible to enter the draft, maek the money and go back..

If you would like me to site the examples I can ASSURE you that the contracts the cincy players are signing for are 5 million + on average..

When does altruism end and common sense kick in?

I guess the people who are qualified for NBA are very seldom. My chances of getting rich with studying are much better.
And the really rich guys who studied ( CEOs and that kind) probably make still more than a NBA player.

I'm just trying to say that getting an education is not overrated when you are putting all your eggs in one basket and shooting for the NBA.

Also, there are other reasons for DOT's statement. Just because they don't graduate a player doesn't mean that they all get drafted instead of graduating.

The whole point of my reasoning was to explain that I, unlike you, are not going to sit in self pity because "I'm reading Elite Fitness, with my degree and talking about how they dont graduate players"

On a side note, Kenyon martin DID graduate the University of Cincinatt so I'm not sure where that argument came from.

The latter of your comments is simply untrue.....

The former is true if applyiing it to ALL of society... But if applying it to the REAL group we are discussing ( University of Cincinnati BKB players who have declared themselves eligible for nba draft early) it is a landslide both economically as well as logically..

Do you guys not understand that SHOULD THEY CHOOSE TO ENROLL IN SCHOOL AFTER THEIR TENURE IN THE NBA THEY CAN?

They dont have to run around for all eternity like the fucking Scarlet Letter of shame...
