Never liked Rage. Sound Garden was spotty at best.

But damnnnnnnnnnnnnn every song I hear from this band is awesome.

I might have to actually buy the cd instead of downloading it.

Hmm... sounds like Soundgarden to me without the interesting time signatures. Of course, without Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil's whacked out timing missing... I can understand why. Too bad Cornell's voice is a shadow of its former self.

i think the "interesting" time signatures is what i hated about them

YES! Agree on all counts, especially about Cameron. I'd hit you up, but I gotta spread it.

You are not alone... many non-musicians found it to be abrasive or confusing.

i found it annoying and thought it sounded like crap....

i did like "Fell On Black Days" and one song from a few years befre that

AudioSlave: Shadow of the Sun :elephant:

1. Shadow of the Sun
2. I am the Highway
3. Like A Stone

These three will give an idea of their greatness.

I CANT BELIEVE I AM TYPING THIS!

Rage was so against the US government and that asshole is from Brazil. Moron.

Soundgarden's UltraMega OK was a great album. That was when they were still on SST. Also, check out Strap It On by Helmet for some more great time signatures.

I have both of those Ganryu and yes... they are both great albums if you don't want to be bludgeoned with boring 4-4 timing.

never listened to much of sound garden so i cant comment on them. always liked rage-except for their last album. that just blew. audioslave is awesome. they have their own sounds going for them- totally different from both rage and sound garden (the few songs i've listened to)

That's total BS. The best voice in rock today

Even his shadow voice is still better than everyone else... I won't dispute that...

But.. go buy Ultramega OK or Loud Love and then tell me his voice is the same... In his younger days he belted out shit that was unbelievable.

That's like Steve Tyler. His signature sound, is comparitivly different from how he sounded in the 70's.

It's ususally un-schooled singers who don't take care of their voice who generally lose it.

Not always, but sometimes.

Though I have to say, when Soundgarden was popular I was attending PMC (professional musicians college) and most everyone there thought it was simplistic tripe.

Kim Thayall wrote an article in a guitar mag talking about how he doesn't practice.

hmmmmmmm

Personally I don't think the musicanship was very good, but I do like a few of their songs.

Check out Symphomy X for shit that will blow your mind.:D
