that's bullshit. I grew up in a house full of guns. I was shooting bb and pellet guns as early as I can remember. Shot my first handgun around age 8 or 9. We lived in rural Oklahoma when I was very young, and sometime around age 5 or 6, my dad showed me where his .22 revolver was and said if he was gone and someone got past our dogs (we had like 6 dogs) and into the house and was going after my mom or me, to get that gun, hold it in both hands point it at the intruder(s) and pull the trigger until it was empty (he showed me then how to hold and shoot it (with no bullets though).
