I decided to go with a 27' imac instead of a macbook pro.
I will be able to edit a ton better with this.

for sure bro, wish i had the cash to get an imac and a macbook pro.
After buying all the programs and what not i'll probably end up spending around $3,000 on the whole thing.

(final cut pro 7 is $700)

anything else needed mandatory mitch?
I'm going to try iworks.

I figure shit, If I try and do this D.W. Griffith style and I smash out 100-200 short films in one year, a few of them are bound to be awesome. Plus, I'll get a lot better at editing quicker

Isn't that the old school Steenbeck editing equipment?

no I haven't seen them yet, but i plan on interning a bit in the next few years after I get decent at editing. I'll see a couple then.....

screenwriting is my strength though.

dam bro that looks pretty awesome

it's fuckin sick...Monitor is so big I can have 3 full (on a normal pc) windows open and view them all at the same time.

I've had it since last december and have yet to have a single issue with it at all. Still works as good as the first day I plugged it in.

Fuck PCs!

Yep, the Rolls Royce of old school. I've cut on one of these and a Moviola. The art school I attended in Cork, Ireland had one of these (Steenbeck) collecting dust in storage. Really nice piece of equipment. If you ever shoot film, you should give analog cutting a try.

I purchased the 27'' imac. got iworks, the warranty, the free printer, and the free one-on-one training. total came to $2300.

what sucks is I'm pretty sure I should wait before I move back to cbus to open it up and set it up....
which could be up to a week.

you don't need to wait to set it up. All you have to do is unbox it, plug in the power cord and turn it on. That's it.

so there's no setting up?
is it easy to put back in the box and take places?

what about fcp7 mitch?

nope, all you do is open the box, take off the styrofoam packing on the sides of the monitor, take the power cord and plug it into the wall and turn the fucker on. That's it.

Yeah, you can put it back in the box really easy, it's just a couple of pieces of styrofoam that are molded to fit on the sides of the monitor to protect it.

FCP7- i'd seriously just download it online. I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS4 for my mac with no problems.

oh, and if you're on wireless internet the mac will automatically detect it and set everything up for you on it's own. If you don't have wireless then just plug in your ethernet cable and you're good to go.

If that bitch can spell Ima buy one.
