Is it possible for the bookies to have access to settle pushes without contacting a moderator? This happens frequently and it takes too much time to settle.

This needs to get settled quickly. Moderators don't know what's going on and they're settling the bets instead of abandoning them (not their fault, they just don't know). Why can't we have access? This is fucking asinine.

you mean settle their own bets and give out the k to the people that won with out a mod?
if so then i dont think any one should be able to do it, i see trouble on the horizon with that...maybe make the oldest but most active k bookie who is on most of the time be able to do it.....but not every one

Maybe just like there is a no outcome button that allows the bookie to settle with no winners (the bookie retaining the karma), there should be a push button which returns K to the addicted.

There is that button already bro. I did it for one event on basketball and it didn't work. :(

But the point is that alts can come in and make bookie events then they can control the karma....you all say stupid shit right now about wait untill you bet on an event and never recieve your karma, then you will all be crying and bitching..
I am not saying that sawastea,swole,or 4ever would do it but other people could...Like i said i see nothing but problems with that technique.....

Yeah what is the purpose of the no outcome button (I think that's what it's called). The only reason I see for it is if there are no bets on the event and if that is so then clicking anything would work just as well.

No no, it's completely fine. But what you posted below, is already happening. People can settle bets without Mods, we are talking about a push. Which means NO ONE wins.

But the nice thing about the bookie forum is that it's, as harmonica says, pretty much self-regulating. It's like in anything in life; if a bookie/doctor/whatever looks shady, you don't do business with him. Much as we joke about being addicted to the bookie forum, nobody has to bet on an event, and somebody who doesn't have the K to pay the winners won't get much action in the first place. Plus, you have to be plat to create bookie events, so there's more of an investment than just signing up for a regular account.

I'm not sure really. Because the Clippers game I hosted, when the Clips won by eight when they were -8, I clicked that button Stilleto said it should have worked but it didn't. I assumed it was for a 'push' but it's pretty useless thus far.

What do you mean by 'bad event'? That shouldn't happen. The bookie should edit the thread telling people not to bet. So It's pretty self-regulating thus far except for when there is a push.

Well if a team is favored to win by 8 points, and they win by 8 points, that is a push. Meaning, they won by 8 like they should have but the other team could have lost by 8 like they should have. So no one won.
 
The "no winning outcomes" button would be used for just what its name implies, but I haven't yet seen an event where it'd be necessary since there's always been a catch-all option like "none of the above..." or "the field."

I really like the "push" button idea, just like the current "no winning outcomes" button.
