I think you would be better served by a similar book called Protein Power or the newer more comprehensive version called Protein Power Lifeplan by Dr. Michael and Mary Eades. They give you a lot more scientific proof about why this type of diet works without going kinda overboard like Atkins does in comparison. I have read all the books and that is my educated opinion. As was said before this diet may not work for everybody that needs to lose weight. It did for me big time.
