Heard the info over the news this morning. Had an email and a handout on my desk this morning. Looks like AT&T will be purchasing the company I work for.
The usual dribble of "we expect to maintain the current workforce, but that may change" is the line we are getting.
One good thing. The union contract still has almost 4 years left on it, so even after the aquisition the rules won't be changed as quickly as if we had no contract. i.e. If my office is closed I know the rules and how to get relocated.
I've actually been trying to get into the tech side of the business. So, this may end up being a plus if they close this sales office.
As a whole this office has a fairly long track record of poor performance so if they do start closing offices this one would be on the short list.
Just a little glimpse of my Monday.
Not really stressing about it, just gotta be on my toes for the change to make sure things end up as well as possible.
