Asymmetry

Hi Everyone,

I'm not taking AS as of yet, because I'm only on my first year of training. My problem is really not about AS, but more on symmetry of my pecs. My right pec is a bit bigger than my left pec. I feel like it is due to my scoliosis.

I also think that the asymmetry is in relation to my dumbbell exercises. I do not use any other gym equipment for my chest exercises except for dumbbells.

Before I started weight training, there were no significant asymmetry with my pecs. But now that I have gotten into it, I feel conscious.

Any advice on how to regain that symmetry?

Thanks in advance to all of you!

ps: 5'9'', 190 lbs.

Beware of your form, make sure your arms follow a symmetrical range of motion... it's all i have to say.

Probably won't matter much since you have only been at it a year. When i first started that was on my mind for months on end and everyone said it will eventually balance out, keep lifting and forget about it. Turns out they were right. Keep plugging away with your routine and when you start to get a good amount of muscle mass on you your pecs will be evened out by then im sure.

Thanks guys!

But does anyone feel that my scoliosis has something to do with the asymmetry? Or is it really just because I have a weaker side that's trying to catch up?

IIRC scoliosis is just a curvature of the spine. It could play a role in it but like i said, unless you are a season bodybuilder and walking around with lots of mass you are going to have imbalances when you first start out which will naturally fill as you train longer. Your body will not grow out of proportion.

No problem. Make sure you come back and post some progress pics when you fill out!
