Aspirating blood...................

I just shot myself up in a delt but strange thing happened, its like a case of deja-vu from the last time i shot myself up. After i injected i aspirated anda blood drop came into the syringe alongside of some air. I let go of the plunger and without withdrawing the needle (i hate poking myself) i aspirated again and nothing but air bubbles, so again i repeated aspiration and nothing but bubbles.

What gives? Did i pierce the skin too slow? did i position needle in a strange way (delt:middle head), maybe went through the vain?

Something like this happen to any of you? Any problems, and i didnt inject into the vain did I as if i did i would expect more blood? :worried:

P.S I shot up 10 min ago from writing this message.

I guess the air is from the chamber of the needle.........not a lot of air, and i do make sure the needle is tight, but as one small air buble is there it gets all stretched out when pulling back on the plunger. I thing an air bubble or two arent a problem.

The problem is did i inject into the vain or did i go through it? Or maybe i pierced the skin too slow?

too slow shouldnt make you blead anymore than if you pop it fast...ther should be no air in the chamer..dont inject air into yourself....if you bleed you either hit a vein or went thru it...eitherway its nothing to worry about

I have only aspirated before I inject... Is there a benefit to aspirating after?

No, you only need to aspirate before injecting, while the needle is in the muscle. There should not be any air bubbles, only a vacuum. If you see blood, take the needle out, put a fresh needle on and inject elsewhere.
