5K good deal or no? guy says has some problems with fairings
thanks man this is what i was looking for...alls he said was the bike has been down once from avoiding a wreckless driver and the fairings arent great...their not replacedpatsfan1379 said:that CBR has been dropped or crashed. any bike with new plastics and no stickers is usually a tell tale sign the bike has been down.
also if the bike has ALL new fairings instead of just one it means it was a pretty good crash.
also the rear swingarm doesnt look stock - almost like it has been replaced.
id have to see some close up pictures to tell for real
5K for a mint bike is a good deal stock everything etc...
also another tell tale sign is the signal lights - they are stock, and any street biker knows that the first things to go are the stock big ol plastic signals, usually changed with flush mounts.
what this means is that the dude customized it, custom paint, grips etc... but left the stock signals??? why? looks like after the bike was dumped he replaced them with OEMs.
good luck my man, i would inspect it further and ask more questions.

patsfan1379 said:in that case imo 5K is too expensive for a bike that has been down. also check the title. nowadays DMV will salvage a title for the smallest incidents.
patsfan1379 said:also new plastics are super expensive. probably about a G to replace all.
NickyE3 said:Straight from the manufacturer it costs waayy more than a G. I have seen a few rockets get dumped at like 10-15 mph and just got a couple little cracks and rash on one side that ended up being salvaged.
I will never understand insurance companies
patsfan1379 said:I had an old R1 that I tried slow speed wheelie with that didnt turn out to well. 950 bucks for all plastics except the top front fairing.
Fack.
NickyE3 said:that sucks, $950 aint as bad as I thought it would be though.
If I ever get a decent rocket and try stunting I will take all the plastics off
patsfan1379 said:that is how the manufacturer makes their money back![]()
NickyE3 said:i thought they costed much more than just a grand. Insurance companies dont make any sense when it comes to these bikes
patsfan1379 said:Well I'm sure a lot of the newer bikes are way more than a G, I got left and right bottoms, mids and tail.
no tank and no front needed.
oh i also got the front fender
NickyE3 said:ouch
frame and forks were still straight?
patsfan1379 said:oh yeah, it takes pretty good speed to bend forks or a frame.
NickyE3 said:tru
though sometimes if the forks get hit right they will go outta whack. depends on the bike though. rockets' suspension and frame are tighter and more rigid
my buddies ZX10 after a speed wheelie gone bad

patsfan1379 said:nice, i was goin about 20 and knew enough on how to lay the bike down with minimal damage.
man that sucks for him.![]()
NickyE3 said:ya he was an idiot and a ballsy/stupid rider, never wore helmet or full gear. He was FUCKED UP after that crash to say the least
he has wrecked 1 dirt bike badly that wasnt even his and has totalled a ZX10 and a Honda RC51.
patsfan1379 said:damn.
no pain no gain i guess.
