I don't know much about sport bikes, but I wonder if they will say not such a good deal... That's what I was thinking, but don't trust my judgement.

that CBR has been dropped or crashed. any bike with new plastics and no stickers is usually a tell tale sign the bike has been down.
also if the bike has ALL new fairings instead of just one it means it was a pretty good crash.
also the rear swingarm doesnt look stock - almost like it has been replaced.
id have to see some close up pictures to tell for real
5K for a mint bike is a good deal stock everything etc...
also another tell tale sign is the signal lights - they are stock, and any street biker knows that the first things to go are the stock big ol plastic signals, usually changed with flush mounts.
what this means is that the dude customized it, custom paint, grips etc... but left the stock signals??? why? looks like after the bike was dumped he replaced them with OEMs.
good luck my man, i would inspect it further and ask more questions.

also new plastics are super expensive. probably about a G to replace all.

though sometimes if the forks get hit right they will go outta whack. depends on the bike though. rockets' suspension and frame are tighter and more rigid

ya he was an idiot and a ballsy/stupid rider, never wore helmet or full gear. He was FUCKED UP after that crash to say the least
he has wrecked 1 dirt bike badly that wasnt even his and has totalled a ZX10 and a Honda RC51.

plastics are no big deal...however when you start piecing these bikes out the expense goes way up...thats why insurance companies "salvage" so fast...the cost of OEM plastics is much more than a 1000.00. the side cases and externals are usually damaged and have to be replaced also, hence- cost dramatically goes up...if she is "salvaged" 3500.00.
*** bring her back up to stock settings before attempting stunts- as the ergo's will be off...frame and swingarm, forks look like they are all in good shape..btw it is a stock swingarm...
