I found great joy in seeing the US take 3rd in Olympic Basketball. I'm not sure why, but whenever the US lose at something (athletics) i find myself happy.

Now i'm sure all you Americans will reply with posts describing Canada's Olympic failures....

Cheers,

I don't like basketball. I would have laughed my ass off if they didn't even win a medal.

I think you said a lot more about yourself than about US Basketball's lack of teamwork. Does the term scheudenfraude mean anything to you?

what are you talking abooot?

Yeah, but it would be better if someone from the first place country would say something instead of the Canadian. It would carry more weight because "hahah you're in third, can always be trumped up with..."

"...but I'm not Canadian."

:)

While the US team is taking a lot of heat, remember:

1. A lot of their best players weren't there...and some were absent without good reason.

2. The guys that DID show up weren't all suited to the international style (not enough outside shooters)

3. A lot of very young and inexperienced guys on team USA's roster.

Allen Iverson said it best when he ripped on the guys that didn't bother to show up....it's an honor to play for your country, and a lot of the mulitmillion dollar ego's just don't get that. Props to AI, who always plays hard...even hurt; I think he was a hockey player in a previous lifetime.

I see your point don't agree but thats your right.

I have been watching CBC's coverage more then before. They have done a good job in showing the events(they show soccer, mens that is not just womens). The background storys are good also.
