Arrowroot Powder is a dietary starch derived from the Maranta arundinacea plant, a tropical perennial native to Central American and the West Indies.

It is an excellent thickening agent that is especially useful for delicate sauces and soups, or sauces that need to be cooked at low temperatures, such as dairy- or egg-based sauces. Arrowroot is considered a nutritious and easily digestible starch.

To use it correctly, mix it with a little cold water before adding to hot mixtures.
