Arnolds

Thirty years ago Arnold developed a habit of bringing his dumbbells down extraordinarily low when doing his shoulder presses. He claimed originally in Muscle Builder and Power magazine that he felt doing them this way activated more of the delt. He thought that increasing the range of motion had to be beneficial. I have no idea what the kinesologists today have to say about them, but I dont think its a real popular version of the dumbbell press.

Personally I feel like it actually is counterproductive. I think it takes too much stress off the delts at the extreme bottom of the movement and allows them to rest too much. The very bottom of the movement I think is mostly tricep and the shoulder press is supposed to be a delt movement.
