Army Vet's LOG: MGF for treatment of torn/strained vastus medialis

Day 3 post-injury:

NOTE: I didn't post the update yesterday (for Saturday) so here it is.

200mcg injection below the site and 25ncg injection of IGH-1 Lr3 next to the injured site.

Pain level 0/10: I walked around the mall and didn't even notice it hurt. It was good throughout the day.

I did get an electro-massage machine at the mall and used that on the area (and on other muscle groups). WOW! This thing is amazing. I will create a separate thread for it. IMO it is an excellent post-workout / injury tool that can be used to help stimulate sore / injured muscle.

Today was my day off and I didn't go to the gym or do any cardio.

Day 4 post-injury.

I haven't injected today due to a busy schedule (I never inject around my kids and I have been with them all day, I will hopefully get my 200mcg MGF shot and 25mcg IGF-1 Lr3 shot this evening).

Pain: 0/10 doing normal activities and while doing deadlifts. Pain is 1/10 when I am doing negative motions with the vastus medialis.

I have a busy schedule next week so I did back day today.

Did deadlifts, 3 warm-up sets (no weight, the bar and 135) then did 4 sets, final one was 245 x 8. I kept it light due to the injury.

NO PAIN whatsoever with the deadlifts. The only time time I noticed pain was when I was bending down to sit and hit rows. I can still feel the area is tight and sore doing negative movements.

Tomorrow is chest day and Tuesday is legs. I will do legs this week but take it easy and rather than doing squats, do leg presses with very light weight (maybe 45s on each side) or the machine leg press.

Overall, the recovery is very good.

I cannot tell if this is the deca/test cycle I am using or the MGF/IGF-1 stack but I have had similar injuries in the past and normally I wouldn't have been able to do deadlifts or other movements with the leg, especially movements this intense.

Squats will be a problem on Tuesday and I know the worst thing to do with an injury is to do too much so I will stick with the plan and keep leg movement light (even though deadlifts were with 245lbs today which is a little weight).

So far so good.

I don't think deca would help mask the pain from a torn muscle so if you are experiencing some relief it's probably from the MGF. I tore my delt near my upper pec last cycle when I was on deca and it didn't heal for a while. I had to go light weight on anything that used pec or frontal delt muscles for the rest of my cycle which sucked b/c i was looking to break 350 bench... It sounds like it's getting better though, keep it up.

AV nice log, how did you tear it? I mean, were you lifting heavy? Or were you do explosive reps?

Kinda heavy. I no longer do 305 reps with a mx weight. 8-12 reps with 80% of my 1 rep max.

I pulled it when I was doing a negative rep. I did a proper warm-up but I felt tight that morning which was an initial sign I should take it easy. I should have listened to my body.

NOTE: I am late posting this. I had to head to NY last week so I am going to put all of the updates here:

25 Oct: Injected 25mcg of IGF-1 and 200mcg of MGF. Did leg workout but skipped squats. I remember a slight pain but nothing significant. I did a light leg workout and the only time I noticed pain was when I did a slow negative movement while getting ready to sit on the bike to do 20 mins of cardio after the workout.

I did the leg press machine rather than squats. I did 5 mins of bike to warm up then four sets of 50 reps on the leg press machine at 30lbs, 70lbs, 140lbs then 170lbs. It is amazing how 170lbs can kick your ass on a leg machine when you do 50 reps. I has absolutely NO pain while doing these which was simply amazing.

26 Oct - 31 Oct: I was in NY and I didn't do any injections of IGF or MGF (I did bring my test and deca though). I flew out on Monday the 25th and that post is above. Leg workout was a 4:30 in the morning too. I did a shoulder workout at the hotel gym on Tuesday and that was it for the week. My relatives love pizza and fish frys so my diet went to hell too but I did pack some whey so I got my protein.

12th day post-injury: Monday November 5th: No pain in the leg. Did deadlifts like I normally do. I didn't inject any MGF because I didn't seem to need it because it seems to be 100% healed. Amazing. I did do 25mcg of IGF-1.

13th day post-injury: Did chest and I need to get my BF down so I started integrating HIT cardio at the end of my workout. Normally I do 20-30 mins of slow cardio at 70-80% of my max heart rate but I did 1 min sprints/1 min walks on the treadmill. NO pain in my leg.

14th day post-injury: Did legs today. I did do squats but I did very light ones, 4 sets of 135lbs for 15 reps. I didn't dare put on more weight just in case. I did the rest of my leg workout and decided to do the 4 set 50 rep insanity I did last week. NO PAIN. It seems to be completely healed!

If I get re-injured I will post it here. IMO I have had injuries like this before and I believed 100% that I would be out for at least a month doing no leg exercises.

I think the stretching, massage, MGF/IGF-1, and light leg workouts did the trick. Amazing.

My leg workout will stay the same next week. I am getting an awesome workout with the high reps on the leg press machine. Better safe than sorry. I will go back to heavy squats the week after next.

Nice work bro and much respect on the log! It sounds like you are fully healed which is amazing at 12 days post injury! My question is, without the MGF/IGF and doing everything else you did, do you feel that you would have recovered from this similarly or do you feel that the MGF/IGF made a HUGE difference?

IMO the MGF made a huge difference. I would think the IGF-1 also helped.

I do emphasize I did light weights to get the muscle moving and blood to the area and massage (and I am on 400mg test and 200mg deca a week) so those are factors also involved.

I would definitely recommend this protocol for anyone with a muscle tear.
