armour thyroid and gh

timtim

Banned
just got back from the doc. we had a discussion on me beginning hrt (no test, wanna have kids still, we discussed mainly gh for now till the kids start - hopefully).

getting my blood done in 2 weeks. i am currently stuck with bronchitus so he wants the medicine cleared before the bloodwork.

one thing i brought up was how much more difficult it is burning fat, even with an extremely tight diet. he said he will look at my thyroid function and if i dont yet qualify for gh, im still pretty young, he said he might go with armour thyroid if necessary.

anyone use it? i looked into it but want some real life experiences if possible.

I've used it, and like it, Home boy. Armour is natural, it is (dissicated pig thyroid) OINK! OINK ! You should get much better and safer results vs. synthetic T3,T4. another library of info on goggle. But I've used Armour and I like it.

Thyroid deficiency most often affects women over 40, but men and teenagers can also have reduced thyroid function, especially if it runs in the family. According to some estimates, as many as 15 to 20% of women over age 60 may have subclinical hypothyroidism (meaning they would benefit from thyroid supplementation even though most doctors would say, based on standard laboratory test results, that they had no thyroid pathology requiring treatment). Each year, 5 to 15% of these women develop symptoms, some of which may contribute to shortening their lives.

Some hypothyroidism, clinically diagnosed as thyroid deficiency syndrome, may be caused by a condition called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune disease, 90% of sufferers being women, in which the body's own immune defenses turn on the thyroid gland, causing an inflammatory process that eventually destroy it. Immunosenesence, immune decline with aging, is associated with increased autoimmune reactions. This progressive destructive process is a major reason why thyroid function commonly declines with age.

Whole-natural or synthetic supplements?

Thyroid supplements come in two forms. Whole-natural supplements and synthetic supplements. It is almost always better to use a whole-natural thyroid extract because the synthetic versions usually only comprise of one of the thyroid hormones, (such as, T3 or T4), whereas, whole-natural thyroids cover a fuller spectrum of thyroid hormones (including T1, T2, T3 and T4).

By measuring a particular hormone known as Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) it can be determined whether supplementation is necessary. The relationship between thyroid levels and TSH levels is inverse, which is to say that as thyroid hormones levels rise in the body, TSH levels normally fall. Because thyroid function changes with age, it is helpful to monitor TSH levels periodically to insure that the quantity of thyroid supplement being taken maintains appropriately youthful levels.

Scientific data, both clinical and experimental, strongly support the idea that a small daily serving of whole thyroid extract as a dietary supplement can have a wide range of positive influences. Dr. James Isaacs, a pioneering cardiovascular surgeon from Baltimore, conducted a classic study in 1974 and found that those who took 1/4 grain of thyroid (whole thyroid is measured in grains, 60mg = 1 grain) combined with minerals and vitamins over a period of 10 years showed significant improvement in cardiovascular-protective function.

Dosages of whole thyroid extracts depend on your age and thyroid condition. As a rough guide they are 15mg to 30mg daily, increasing to 60mg daily after a couple of weeks if necessary. If you are over 40 years of age and have no overt endocrine disease and you wish to slow the aging process, just a small regular whole thyroid supplement can raise energy levels, allow clearer thinking and improve bowel function

whats up old man? how have you been? i know you took a break from the board for personal reasons. ive been around alittle more lately but still real busy. so you liked the armour. good to hear. all the older dudes at my old gym swore by it but i never got into it as i avoid thyroid meds. if my doc has reason to prescribe it i want to be ready for it though.

thanks and nice to hear from you.

I have taken Armor also. I don't know about synthetic vs pig. Just took what the dr. script said. It worked well for me.

after he sees what my blood results say, then he says we can talk options. im hoping for gh and armour. well see.

Good luch with the GH as in California they are revoking Dr. licsenses for script without legitamacy...

he was clear, if my levels dont call for it he wont provide it. this isnt the first time weve discussed my hrt. this is where we are starting at. this isnt an anti-aging clinic. this is a nephrologist who specializes in hrt. he is nationally accredited and doesnt fuck around. been with him since 2003 and have been moving towards this since then. when my blood results say i need gh, ill get it.

That is good. The Dr. I went to see in Cali is also a very respected Dr.
Is your insurance going to cover it?

I'm on armour and like it , but keep in mind, all hormonal therapy is suppressive.

For what it's worth, I also use ZIP Protein Factory Inc. :: Supplements :: ZIP and haven't had to increase my thyroid dosage since I started 5 years ago.

im alittle iffy about finally starting my hrt. if i had kids already hed have me on test when my blood shows i need it. i have a feeling my thyroid will be the only one off. im not dropping muscle at all. the bf is just getting much harder to drop with a real tight diet.

Then try ZIP first, it may give the little boost you need without resorting to HRT.

Hmmm lets see? Free scripted GH or ZIP? Sorry Nelson, I don't think it's always about natty...

what does of armour is everyone taking?

ive been researching it, seems to vary but its in a 4:1 ratio in a grain. its 4 grains t3 to 1 grain of t4 (i think, or vice versa). the lowest starts at 30, then 60, then 90 i think. too lazy to look it up.

one 30mg pill in the am.
Get some lab work done you may need more/less...

Actually if natty works, it should be the first plan.

And I'm hearing about needing this and that but where are the numbers? A doctor doesn;t prescribe GH just for the hell of it. I'm guessing this is one of those online clinics. aka make -believe doctors.

From what I understand there are no Dr's in Cali that will prescribe GH for long term use unless there is significant evidence that it is required. I know of a fried that received a script for it because he had valley fever he had a script I think for 6-8 weeks.

yeah. I'm curious as to how one would run a fat-burning cycle using the 1 grain tablets (They provide 38 mcg (T4)
and 9 mcg (T3) per tab) I see plenty of recommendations on how to run a cycle of T3 or T4 ramping up and down, but not sure how one would do that with both hormones combined at the same time.
