Arm circulation

Love Bone

New member
I have been experiencing my hands and fingers falling asleep at night when I sleep. I am assuming it is from the growth but wonder if anyone else experiences this and does it go away as your body gets adjusted to the growth? Or am I totally off base here with the cause.

I sometimes wake up with hands numb, but thats just because I was sleeping on them. You shouldn't be losing circulation in any of your limbs. If anything, you would have better circulation.

I have to lay my arms to my sides to keep them from going numb. If I sleep on one side or the other, circulation slows. Never happened before this cycle.

Arms falling asleep doesn't ahve anything to do w/ circculation don't fret about that being the cause. Its actually caused from crimping of a nerve. The body acts like major trauma has occured (such as severing of the limb) and so forth acts like its no longer part of the body no longer sending signals or recieving signals (though all circulatory recovery functions ect.. remain intact)

When you wake it up it that crazy feeling is from the brain all of a sudden realizing it can recieve signals from all of the nerves again.

Theres no evidence that this is in anyway harmfull but it could point to other complications as to its cause. Of course sleeping on your arm or sitting on your leg is hte most common reason.

Thanks Enoch. So the nerve may be crimped by growth and of course some water gain? If so, does it eventually go away? I think it's in my shoulder as the angle I hold my arm makes the feeling come and go.

I have the same problem..this is only when I am experiencing muscle growth. If I am on a diet then my arms don`t fall asleep....it is a pain in the ass since I am a side sleeper!

I once read that the blood supply to a given muscle can sometime lag behind therefore, if you were to sleep on that limb you could obstruct the flow of blood to the point where there wasn't enough oxygen to properly oxygenate the muscle. Cardio (aerobic activity) is supposed to increase the diameter of the blood vessels more so that anerobic activity. Just something that I read ...
