Arginine Tips for Ya (All Problems Solved)

OK, I have been trying to figure out how to really get the most out of Arginine supplementation (you need high doses to see an HGH or NO effect, from what I understand), but there are two big problems:

1. High dosage is not easy to manage. You have two choices:

a. Gag down heaps of pills. (or)

b. Endure the "worse than a camel's ass" tase of the powder. (Don't ask me how I know what a camel's ass tastes like, OK? That's a very sensitive issue for me.)

2. Flares Up Herpes

Yes, if you get oral cold sores or have genital herpes it will almost certainly bring on an outbreak.

Now, I have a definite solution for one (Herpes - this one works for a fact), and a probable solution for the other.

1. For High Dosage ...

"buffered" arginine that reportedly tastes much better than a camel's ass.


So, if you want to to 15-30 grams a day, now you can just mix it in water and *not* vomit on impact. Just be careful with that dose. You need to ramp it up slowly or you'll be messing your drawers.

I just ordered mine so I will be giving you a report once I taste it.

2. For Herpes

I wish the whole world knew about this: Olive Leaf Extract.

Just take some high doses of it and you won't get the outbreak. You'll need to play with the dosage, but once I found mine I haven't had an outbreak (oral) since. Halleluj (however the fuck you spell it)!

Same place sells it in bulk.

BONUS TIP

This may or may not be worth a shit, but I am going to try it ...

Arginine makes your erection stronger by upping your Nitric Oxide level. (Arginine is the only Nitric Oxide precursor in the body as far as I know.)

The above herb reportedly inhibits the enzyme that breaks down Nitric Oxide (just like Viagra) so together the two might make for great "boner juice".

Xanthoparmilia is the shit! The people at Protein factory contacted me for advice on a supplement line for users of anabolics and Xantho was one of the first on the list of recommended ingredients..
 
rogerwilcox, I'm allergic to kinds of toothpaste because they contain some kind of sodium. The dentist said it was a canker sore oubreak. As far as I know cold sores are the ones that pop up on the outer lip. Do canker sore sufferers need to worry about argine and outbreaks?

I don't think canker sores and cold sores are the same thing ...

A cold sore (that you get on the outter lip) is the Herpes simplex virus and it is definitely affected by arginine.

Herpes is very obvious. It is usually little tiny yellowish pussy blisters that get bigger. If the describes what you get, then that's herpes.

Do some research on google about both.

You can always try (very carefully) and see what happens ...

15-30 grams seems like a shitload to take, though. Just ordered a few pounds of powdered arginine, I was thinking more along the dosing regime of 6-9 grams/day. Any references on the high dose?

I can't pull up the references for that dosage off-hand, but I seem to remember reading about people using up to that amount to treat erectile dysfunction and cardivascular disease.

Do a search for "arginine heart disease" on google and see what you come up with ...

I actually did find some info over the weekend regarding a study done on people taking approx 30g/day orally to stimulate HGH.

Now, the hard part of that is the F#*@ing taste! OMG, camels ass nails it right on the head. That shit is nasty.

What do you mix yours in? Plain water is brutal, and now I can't even drink peach crystal lite anymore, with or without arginine.

When I take it before bed, though, the glutamine I add seems to totally cover the bad taste. Odd.

Just all depends on what you are taking it for; if your looking for serious wood, then just take it alone.
Some say the viagra-like effect will be nulled if you consume arginine with protien; In theory, you should still recieve the benefits. I seem to notice a major difference when i take it alone, that's for sure.

only thing with a lot of nitic oxide you increase free radical activity...make sure you take soem extra antioxidants while ramped up on Arginine...
 
i wouldn't take high doses of arginine if you have a canker sore....
i had one n used a bulking protein powder that had around 7 grams per serving n it blew it up......
 
As far as the viral component goes, check this out:

"If the arginine balance is far higher than the lysine, then fungal forms, allergies and viruses like the herpes simplex viruses, are not kept under control by the immune system. On the other hand, keeping lysine levels high helps the immune system control allergies, viruses and fungals."

So, to offset the outbreaks, make sure your lysine supplementation is up there. I have no idea of the doseage, though. Maybe others can add their two cents.

BAC has a killer buffered arginine product, but they won't ship to Canada anymore, and I was informed via email yesterday that "arginine is on our restricted list for Canada".

That blows 'cause I have 2 pounds of unbuffered arginine to gag down.
 
Lysine definetly helps with herpes... been using it a year now at gram a day and have had only 1 breakout(oral)..... use to get 2-3 breakouts in the fall and another 2-3 in the spring... and sometimes 1 in the summer from overexposure to the sun but ive been frying my arse off this year and not one problem... oh and the 1 breakout i did have was when i was using arginine... stopped taken that supplement right away after that...
 
Just to report and confirm - I've now tried the BAC buffered Arginine and it tastes just fine.

Guys, I'm telling you - for Herpes try the Olive leaf. It will make all the difference in the world.

What was your begining dosing regime to get up to 30g/day? Seems right now I'm taking approx 6-8g with h20, then running to the can. Do you take yours plain? with carbs? I'd kill to get a hold of a buffered version, but I may have to make my own somehow.
