I just got back from the gym - today is deadlift day for me. For those of you who don't know me well, I am an old dude. Like born in the Truman days old. But I still train like a mofo, and I still like to compete in strength sports. So when I got asked for what must be the 37 millionth time today by some 20 something if I was "on" just because he "had never seen someone my age pull over 675" I felt I had to post my little old guy questionnaire about using juice. This is my list of things I think you should ask yourself if you are about to begin down that road of chemical enhancement or have just begun. I may have even posted something like this here before, I just can't find it.

So sit back and listen to an old guy who knows a little about this stuff.

1) Are you willing to get caught by the law for what you are doing and pay the man for the crime?

2) Does using AAS cause you to have to lie or otherwise compromise your morals with your loved ones, and if so, are you OK with that?

3) Are you willing to take your own health into your own untrained hands (meaning you are not a doctor or other medical professional)?

4) Are you willing to take the chance at fucking up your hormone system to the point that you HAVE to live the rest of your life on TRT like I and others do?

5) Have you REALLY assessed your goals and what you want to accomplish? Are they realistic?

6) Have you trained to the point that to get to those goals, AAS is the only way?

7) Can you honestly say that you are in control of your diet to the point that when asked you can detail your daily macro nutrient intake within 10%?

8) Are you over 21 and preferably over 25?

9) Can you honestly say that you know about the drugs you are going to use? I don't mean bro-ology here, but PDR and honest legitimate institution research level knowledge, and that you know what all that you read means?

This is by no means an anti AAS rant. What it is - and only what it is - is a gut check. I think my position on AAS is pretty clear. I am speaking to the things that often times get overlooked, and discounted. I am guilty as hell of that. I think it comes with the territory of the muscle sports and the feeling of invincibility that goes along with them.

Please understand, that I truly do care for everyone here. My only goal with this is to make sure that others make sure they know what they are getting into, and they take the time to honestly access the whole picture; not just what the results after a 12 week cycle will be.

Please be careful with you. You are the only you there is.

So answer my question old timer.... What are you on and where can I get some????

Good post brother. Everyone is looking for s short cut. Pussies.

Too many guys put the cart before the horse and use aas way before they've reached their full natural potential. If you have no grasp of proper training and diet, please leave the sauce alone. Hormone manipulation is serious business.

No source talk or I'll ban you. ;)

But you are absolutely right. Pussy is a good name for it. I would have said that too, but I have made a New Year's resolution to be a kindler and gentler bblazer. There are no shortcuts or magic pills that replace hard work and time.

I only hope this doesn't fall entirely on deaf ears bblazer.

You young guys are so often too quick to jump on the joose. Probably 99% of people here got on AAS too soon. Not necessarily too young, but too soon. So often people say they just can't grow anymore. Everyone is a "hard gainer". Bullshit. If you're not growing the answer is most often found in your diet. Eat, train, rest. You get that down and take it as far as you can, then think about steroids.

The part about knowing your goals and being realistic with them should be paid attention to as well. If you are 6' tall and 190 lbs. and want to gain 10 lbs of muscle and get your bodyfat down from 13% to 10%...you don't need steroids. You just need a bit more dedication.

If you think you're going to become a pro bodybuilder one day...well, I'd ask you to really evaluate if you really think you are more genetically elite than 99.999% of the population before you load up for that test/deca/dbol/tren/winny/t3/clen/kitchen sink, cycle.

There are about 400 or so pro BBers from around the world. There are some 6 billion people in the world. Do the math. Some of you here believe that anyone with some hard work, any old genetics and enough steroids could become a pro BBer. Yet the same people know that not everyone has the genetics and athletic ability, regardless of how much training or drugs to become the next Michael Jordan, LaDanian Tomlinson, Usain Bolt, etc. If you have the genetics to turn pro, you would know after about 2-3 years of serious training. For 99.99999999% of you, there will be no sandow in your future.

I cannot say this enough, i busted my butt in the gym starting at 18,i tried everything Cybergenics,The weider principle, muscle drops,androdosterene...it was in my late 20's when i took a simple Dbol cycle, but hey! All that many years of hard training paid off i bet i look better at 58 than 90% of the members on this board.
