S. , you are Left-brained and your learning style is visual

Most left-brained people like you feel at ease in situations requiring verbal ability, attention to detail, and in-depth, linear, analytical ability. Whether you know it or not, you are a much stronger written communicator than many, able to get your ideas across better than others.

It's also likely that you are methodical and efficient at many things that you do. You could also be good at math which is based on very strict rules that don't vary terribly much. Numbers are sequential which is something your brain is particularly good at processing. Because of this, you probably tend to break things down into their constituent parts instead of looking at the whole of a picture.

Left-brained people also are likely to rely more on objective observations than subjective feelings. For this reason, you might find that for pleasure reading, you're more interested in the facts of nonfiction instead of the free-flow of fiction.

Additionally, since you are a visual learner, the fastest way for you to learn and retain information is through material you absorb through your eyes.

isnt there a connection with being right brained and left handed? and vice versa.

you are Right-brained and your learning style is balanced

Most right-brained people like you are creative, imaginative, and particularly attuned to their surroundings, whether catching the nuances of music, discerning artistic elements, or noticing spatial relationships between different forms. We know this because researchers notice increased activity in the right hemisphere of the brain in individuals hooked up to monitors when they play music or ask them to complete a task involving spatial relationships.

Right-brained people tend to be seen as messier than others. It's not that you're necessarily disorganized, it's just that you are likely to have different systems of organization (by theme, by subject, by color) than straight alphabetization or rigidly ordered folders.

Though thinking logically might be something you have to do sometimes, you are also good at stream of consciousness thinking and making tangential jumps in logic or reasoning. You are more intuitive than many. And when it comes to pleasure reading, you might have a stronger preference for creative or fiction writing than nonfiction.

Additionally, since you are a balanced learner, the fastest way for you to learn and retain information is through material you absorb through both your eyes and your ears.

the constituent part is very close as i do tend to look at the overall picture, break everything down and then buold it up again mentally

i also take just as much pleasure reading/watching non-fiction as i do fiction

Balanced-brained and your learning style is visual.
You have a balanced brain — able to draw on the strengths of both the right and left hemispheres depending on context. Typically, people with balanced right and left hemispheres are very comfortable with switching between local and global perspectives — that is, paying attention to both small details and larger issues when the circumstance indicates. That means they can identify elements that make up an image or situation and also attend to the larger, more holistic pattern or unified whole that those details comprise.

You are able to capitalize on the left hemisphere's skills in verbal communication as well on the right hemisphere's focus on patterns and association making. This rare combination makes you a very creative and flexible thinker.

Depending on the situation, you may rely on one hemisphere or the other. Some situations may lend themselves to using your right brain's creativity and flexibility, while other situations may call for a more structured approach as dictated by your left brain.

Additionally, since you are a visual learner, the fastest way for you to learn and retain information is through material you absorb through your eyes.
