Each year, the seasonal influenza vaccine contains three influenza viruses – one influenza A (H3N2) virus, one seasonal influenza A (H1N1) virus, and one influenza B virus. The influenza viruses in the seasonal flu vaccine are selected each year based on surveillance-based forecasts about what viruses are most likely to cause illness in the coming season. Therefore, each year's seasonal flu vaccine is designed to protect against the influenza viruses expected to cause disease during the upcoming influenza season.

Ya ya I knew that already, well at least it's some protection against expected viruses...

Got mine in September. I've skipped it twice in the past 15 years, and got the worst cases of flu both times. Never had a bad reaction or gotten sick after a flu shot.

I'd never get a flu shot !! Man evolved this long without any flu shots....lol. Only the strong survived.
Everytime every person I know has gotten one they get a cold like 10x stronger than usual....
That's never happened to me, but I am a bit compulsive about handwashing. OK a lot compulsive haha.

I'd take a shot but only in the ass.
BTW I just got over the flu so I am good. IMO the flu shot is only needed for the elderly and young. Real men and women should just tough it out. Colds build character.

Don't forget people who have compromised immune systems/chronic illness or disease. Some people die from the flu.
Yep. I'm also a compulsive hand washer. My aunt has leukemia so we all try and stay well so she can stay well.

I am getting my flu shot at the earliest opportunity (local health unit's first clinic date is Nov 3).
I have gotten a flu shot every year for the past 10 years or so. Never used to, but then I got a flu so bad I thought I was going to die...I was completely wiped out for damn near three weeks. Never going to risk getting hit that hard again.

I got the flu shot last year and everyone, EVERYONE in my family got the flu last year, my sister even got H1N1. It struck all at once, I was the only one able to take care of everyone. Even my inlaws caught it from my daughter. I can't afford for my little one to get so sick again. She lost so much weight, she had it for three weeks and she was only three months old, it was horrible.
I got mine two weeks ago and fyi, it burnt like a thousand burning suns for about a week
I havent had one in years and my drs office rn basically wouldnt take no for an answer and stabbed my arm under protest...assault? I think so

my youngest is required to get it by the end of the year to be able to attend preschool

Sure does, it's never fun having an illness.
God thats why I fuggin hate public schools. I really don't want to be told what to do when it comes to my daughter unless I can pull her from the school and tell them to fuck off. I heard something yesterday about a parent going to jail because they didn't attend a parent teacher conf but I didn't get to hear the details....but omggggggggggggduh

lol yeah, I shoulda known that, most preschools are private, your post made me think of public schools because I hate them so much and you said govt... You have the option to just go somewhere else if they require too much.. I assume you have to get a jab for your work?

I couldn't agree more, everything one needs to stay healthy n sick free resides on this planet naturally and in diet n lifestyle......I haven't got a flu shot since I was 8 years old, I am 33 now n have been healthy as a horse ever since......I will probably get flamed for this but its what the Gov recommends n wants for its citizens....I truly believe it is injected slow death n another tool in the works for population control.....how does one "really know" what is actually in the fluid being injected into u?? I mean, they admit the H1N1 is now permanent in all flu shots, n if u do some hardcore research the H1N1 is actually a man-made virus......I feel sorry for all those who really believe the CDC is put to help prevent viruses n diseases....flame away all haters! Lol
