Are you cheap...

yes on some things but when it comes to cars no

no. I just bought a pair of dress shoes for a couple hundred. well worth it.

Whiskey

I love nice things and I dont mind paying for them or buying them for someone else. However, I dont need to be seen driving a Mercedes to feel important and I'm quite comfortable sitting here in my $6.00 Hanes sweats.

I dunno if I'm cheap or not...

also, when it comes to underwear, i'm not cheap. I have to have my calvin kleins. Yes I could get fruit of the loom, BUT, hellz no

Whiskey

Awww....you sound like a great mom :)

oh thank you sweetie!!! Kind of you to say...i feel like a horrible mom at times..lol. But i don't think it should ever be any other way. :)

I'm very cheap........

For example, the local Bodega has been giving away a 2nd Sunday newspaper when you buy 1 - so I've made my hubby take the 2nd free paper so I can get the extra set of coupons that come in the paper.

And every week when the grocery store sale ads show up I go thru them & circle the things that are on sale + what I have a coupon for & "bundle" my driving trips to save gas & buy the sale stuff & store it.

I have a pantry, basement pantry & full size freezer. I could live for a year on all the food I have stored.....

Dude, I love FTLs

most comfortable shit ever. I bought some Boss underwear and that shit is so annoying, they are tight in all the wrong places... nothing like the loose feeling

damn girl...you are good with your shopings

Yeah, I've been called that. But, if I listened to everyone else I wouldnt have shit. Not my own house or my own car paid for. And I have a daughter, so I have to be cheap. She's expensive.

Yes, I'm cheap. I will try to buy things on sale, shop for the best price, etc. I'll avoid purchasing something I want because I feel the price is too high to justify owning it.

With beer - not a fucking chance will I be cheap. I like good beer.

Certain things I try not to be cheap on, but they have to have a severe importance to me and I have to know they'll last forever to justify me spending the extra cash. If I buy tools, I buy, at a minimum, Craftsman. I know I'm spending a bit more, but when (not if, when) I break it, a new one is a short drive away.

Gotta pinch pennies and spend money wisely. I could care less to have the newest flashiest this and that. What I buy serves a purpose and fits my budget.

Do you mean do i nickle & dime shit?

No.

What's the purpose of money if you can't use it to get what you desire. If you don't -- you're being untrue to yourself and your wishes. Spend that time obtaining more money then. Rise your means to meet your wants. Not the other way around.

Nope not at all. What's the point of making your money, if you can't enjoy it.

I don't spend my whole paycheque as soon as I get it, I'm very responible with my money, but I also like nice things, and like to dress and look good. I also enjoy treating/ and doing things for the people I love.

There's actually a newsletter out there for Cheap people where you can find uses for the cardboard roll leftover when you're out of the TP.....that's CHEAP!!

I just get the absolute maximum out of my money......I make it go far.

I'm cheap w/ some things. Not w/ the important stuff. I'd say I'm just price conscious. For special things I'll splurge. I dropped major dinero on my posing suits which may conceivably only be worn once. But I guess I wasn't too worried about it when I bought them. Also was contributing to the local economy as they were hand made by a friend of mine. Gas I price shop for. My posing shoes bought online, I love Target and I really only shop for clothes once every 6 months or so. Shoes I *ALWAYS* get a deal on, however I buy them alot so I guess I don't really save anything. HOwever I get major use out of all of them.

Does he say nice things about me? How often? When he talks in his sleep...Does he mention my name? :friends:

Yes, he does. It's rather infuriating, though, to hear him call your name while he's sleeping. Or that day that he called me 'awitty' by accident.

Okay, I have to stop talking about this, my jealous streak is kicking in

;)

I can't say!!!!!! It's too heartbreaking!!!!!!

ok fine, i wouldnt say im cheap (since i buy nicer presents for people than anyone else i know, always buy rounds, always take something to a house im visiting, stuff like that...) though i am frugal when i buy things - ie buy in bulk when things are discounted, buy things well in advance if there is a decent saving - although theres also an element of convenience as well (ie its nice having 30 kilos of washing powder in the storeroom...not only did you get it at half the price, but you dont run out...running out of stuff drives me mad)

its all about opportunity cost and cost/benefit analysis. if its worth my time, ill do it.

imo, being cheap is false economy. getting more for your money by using your brain and planning ahead, on the other hand, is just being sensible, because really...why the hell would you want to work any more than you absolutely have to to get what you want?

Im cheap on food
I rarely buy rounds or presents.

I spend on clothes (how many people have white tie, suits, tuxedo and morning dress anymore)

living space, (live by myself as a student in a pretty big room with a bathroom, a 9 ft x 8 ft bed and a little lounge and there´s a bar in the house)

glasses (Currently wearing Silhouette´s from Austria in titanium, with cilinder correction, hardened de-mirrored glass, side joints and no frame. -450 euro) love them

I usually eat at the mensa/mass restaurant. food isn´t that bad for about 4 bucks a meal.

Shoes for myself - one area I'm not cheap. When I buy sneakers, price is only a small factor because I will wear them until they are falling apart and then some. Same goes with boots, which I wear more than anything else. If I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of shoes, I'll spend whatever cash is necessary. My last pair of boots had holes starting in the sides, that's how long I wore them (4-5 years).

I only have 1 pair of dress shoes and they cost me maybe $30. I've worn them a handful of times, so no need to spend a lot of money on them. I did, however, make sure I got a pair I could throw polish on to shine them up on the rare occasions I do wear them. I don't care for a mirror reflective shine, but they look good (and appear to be more expensive than they actually are) when I do wear them.

It really is amazing what you can do with shoes and some shoe polish.
