I have finally been able to pinpoint my exact approach to social life for the past 6 years or so. I am a friend to everyone, but close to no one. It really does describe my life. Everyone knows me, most people love me and I shine in social situations like parties and work and college, where I am able to jump from one person to another person or group of people without ever staying in one spot for too long.

makes sense. it was never a calculated approach, but came from analyzing myself. I really like it and this approach has enabled me to prolong many friendships. Don't get me wroing, I've had some long term gf's in there, but by being friends with people but making sure I walk the fine line of not getting too close, I avoid having to deal with hearing about every mundane detail of their pathetic lives and avoid all the bullshit childish drama that goes along with it all.
