Im in the low to mid 240's in contest shape(id guess 5% or so, i never take my bodyfat, i go strictly by the mirror)
to be in the low 280's at 6% is incredible. Im not doubting him, there wa a guy i used to work with @ my old gym who was 6'4 290-300 lbs fuggin shredded year round. never competed though cause his calves were shitty, he had alot of crazy synthol bodyparts, and he liked binging on cookies to much(lazy fucker never knew how to diet)

To say that bodybuilding is not genetics is also false. It has alot to do with it.. It is also a science.. But I wont disagree with the hard work, nutrition, etc..

to an extent you need genetics..but all good genetics really does is give you a head start. if you can move up and improve consistently with your physique...the sky is the limit in my opinion...

ugh...if i ate mcdonalds every day while bulking id gain fat like crazy....i gotta maintain a strict and timed diet in order to maintain a good bodyfat %..so in that regard my genetics arent "great"...but with nutrition and science/knowledge combined, i can still beat genetically gifted guys..like i said genetics just gives you a head start...it doesnt make or brake you...the drive/knowledge/consistency in and out of the gym is what makes a good bodybuilder, genetics or not. striving to gain 8-10lbs a year lean muscle on gear while keeping proportions perfect and bodyfat will ensure alot of progress...anyone should be able to do this...i dont care if you have the worst genetics in the world (well, almost the worst)...if you know HOW to do it right i think anything's possible..but thats just my opinion..

bodyfat is the most underestimated concept in bodybuilding....Do you know what it's like to be 5%? It's hard to live, trust me. Cold/hot flashes, muscle twitching, etc....it's no fun. Unless you compete, I have a hard time believeing many are sub 5%. I bet the average on this board is 10-15% and 10% is pretty damn lean. I'm tested at 7.9% two months ago and I don't want to be much lower. Prob. will be 10-11% after this bulking summer.

Also to the guy who said its all genetics...WRONG ANSWER...i was 120 at 5'9 and 12% bodyfat at age 17 after 1 year of dedicated training but not much idea of the right way to train or eat...
its hard work, consistency, knowledge, nutrition/supps/training and all those other things that make a good champion...i would know *wink*

never said it's "all" genetics...

please don't quote dullboy out of context - it's confuses everyone and has the potential to cause people to lose respect for dullboy which would be very unfair. *wink*

remember - dulboy has been as low as 7% (@ 220) so he has at least a little idea what he's talking about. just a little.

Absolutely bro.. I believe genetics is a big advantage.. I see guys in the gym that have looked the same for 10 years, but I seem to have a little genetics on my side when it comes to shoulders and arms..Everything else I have to work my ass off to improve.. I wish my chest looked bigger, my shoulders overpower it..

yeah...even some big guys at my gym have looked the same year in and year out. i hardly ever see anyone changing at my gym...just 1 or 2 guys out of thousands. My chest seems to grow out of control so i need to do less to control that...same with legs/back. delts/arms on the other hand i need to bust my ass to gain..same with calves.
