True. Commitment should be volunterrily in a relationship, not forced upon someone. Making someone commited to you, will more than likely make them less committed.

This is a similar observation to the one i made in my post.

If you are a nice well adjusted guy that can work against you. So many people seek to make things hard for themselves so they'd be more attracted to a jerk.

My sister says she wants a warm caring guy. Yet the men she goes for are always cold and emotionally repressed. She says she wants a stable relationship. Yet whenever things are going well she introduces conflict into the relationship.

What she consciously says she wants isn't what she subconsciously believes is possible. So she quite unconsciously seeks out bad partners and introduces conflict into her relationships but doesn't seem aware that she is doing this.
